Panel 2: The fairy friend group stands behind a flock of wild turkeys, watching as the birds peck excitedly at the feast. Heart Fairy says “I’m thankful you all eat the ticks!” Flower adds “now quit eating the wildflower seeds.” Question whispers to Aster*sk, “aren’t we just fattening them up for the bobcats?” Aster*sk says “SHHH!” but the asterisked footnote reads “um, yes.”
Panel 3: A bobcat stares down into the floor of a mountain valley, with a thought bubble reading “why, thank you!” And an artist footnote reads: “a bobcat that occasionally stops by: (1) muscle (2) FUZZY (3) murder mittens SHARP” i should have added “ears FLOOFY”
And unfortunately, none of my camera angles quite capture the bobcat’s face in a way I like, so I had to make the head turned away. It stands about 16"-18” at the shoulder, maybe more, and I’ve watched it grow from teen bob-kitten size. It really really likes tracking the turkeys that come to our meadow.
