Bobby Braw Rise of Maioura

The Braw Agents Second Failure?

The Braw Agents Second Failure?

Nov 08, 2024

As the stone warriors walked away from the museum, all Bobby could do was watch. Eventually, they disappeared from his sight. “Well, at least we tried,” commented Bobby. He took the failure much less personally this time, since he now knew that trying was the best thing they could do. However, he still felt a bit of embarrassment and disappointment over what happened. These feelings were reflected in his eyes. “What should we do now?” asked Edward. “I think we should find a staff member and tell them about what happened,” answered Bobby. “I’ll go down by myself. You guys stay here, okay?” he added. After delivering those instructions, Bobby headed to the staircase and walked down.

While he was speaking, Hannah noticed something about him. Bobby had clearly been upset over the incident. He also showed signs of embarrassment and fear when he walked downstairs. Most likely due to the many possible outcomes of the situation, and which one would become reality. As one of Bobby’s most loyal friends, she felt bad so decided to accompany him when he reported the news to the museum staff. Hannah ran towards the staircase and raced down it. Hannah was halfway down the staircase when she noticed Bobby in the distance. He was approaching a museum employee. Although she could not see it, the employee had an ID card around his neck with the name Felix on it. Hannah ran down the rest of the staircase and managed to catch up to Bobby. “I came to give you support. I think you’ll need it, you looked worried,” she explained. “Thank you,” replied Bobby.

Just then, the museum employee noticed them. “How can I help you?” he asked. “We’re here to tell you something,” explained Bobby. “You know how there were some stone warriors on the fifth floor trying to steal the Maioura Blade?” “Yes?” replied Felix. “What about it?” Bobby pushed through his hesitation and continued his tale. “Well, my friends and I tried to stop them, but …” For a few seconds, Bobby was caught up in his nervousness, but he eventually finished his story. “They… got away with it,” he muttered. At that point, Bobby prepared himself for the worst. He expected something along the lines of a scolding or the announcement of an expensive bill he would have to pay. But to the great surprise of him and Hannah, this was not the case.

“No, they didn’t,” replied Felix. “What do you mean?” asked Bobby in a state of shock. “What I mean is that the Maioura Blade you saw on display was a fake,” explained Felix. Questions flooded Bobby and Hannah’s minds. It was like the session at the Trooth Booth all over again. “Where’s the real one?” asked Hannah. “The real Maioura Blade is in this museum,” answered Felix. “Hidden in a secret vault, in a staff only area,” he added. Bobby thought Hannah’s question would give them a logical answer, but it only brought in more confusion.

“If you have the real Maioura Blade, why didn’t you put it on display?” asked Bobby. “The Maioura Blades are dangerous artefacts,” explained Felix. “We didn’t have the confidence to risk putting one in a public area.” Hannah failed to see the logic in Felix’s answer. “But you need all three of them to create the Avere Maioure,” she explained. “I know,” stated Felix, “but you saw the attack, and how the blade was only being protected by a glass case.” Hannah grew slightly impatient with Felix’s explanations. “But that glass was very sturdy, the stone warriors had trouble breaking it,” she explained impatiently. “But it wasn’t indestructible,” replied Felix. At that point Hannah gave up on the conversation.

“Can we at least see the real Maioura Blade?” asked Bobby, hoping to get something good out of this situation. “Normally, we don’t allow visitors into staff-only areas, but since you guys tried to protect one of our displays, I suppose you can,” answered Felix. Bobby and Hannah were honoured to see the real Maioura Blade. The three of them made their way from the museum hall to the staff-only area on the other side of the door. During this walk, Felix gave them some instructions. “You two need to be absolutely quiet, there are people working in there,” he ordered sternly. “When I show you the Maioura Blade, you must not touch it, photograph it, or reveal its location to anyone,” Felix added. “Don’t worry, you can trust us to behave,” replied Bobby.

After a short walk, Bobby, Hannah, and Felix arrived at a door with a Staff Only sign on it. Felix grabbed his key and opened the door. When the three of them walked in, the other museum employees gave Bobby and Hannah strange looks. “Don’t worry, I let these two come here,” explained Felix. “They want to see the real Maioura Blade. They have good intentions, I promise,” he added. “So where is it?” whispered Hannah. “Right over there,” whispered Felix, while pointing to a nearby bookcase. The three of them walked over to the bookcase. Felix pushed the bookcase away, revealing a small compartment. Inside was the real Maioura Blade. It looked just like the one Bobby and Hannah saw a week ago, but all of the yellow parts were instead blue. “Very cool,” whispered Bobby. Both he and Hannah took a moment to look at the Maioura Blade before they left the staff-only area and reunited with the other Braw Agents, albeit after a brief search on the museum grounds, only to then find them on the third floor.

“There you are, we were looking for you, where were you?” asked Narvy. “I have some good news,” announced Bobby, with great enthusiasm. “The Maioura Blade that the stone warriors stole was a fake, the real one is being kept safe in a place only museum staff have access to.” This news delighted all of the Braw Agents. “That’s great,” replied Elsa. “But how do you know all of this?” “A museum employee told us,” explained Bobby. “Yeah, and we got to visit the staff-only area and see the real Maioura Blade,” added Hannah. Edward became highly intrigued by what she said. “They let you into the staff-only area?” he asked, surprised. “Yes, the employee knew we didn’t want to steal it, so he let us see the real Maioura Blade,” explained Hannah. “Do you have any photos?” asked Elsa, eagerly. “I would have taken a photo, if I was allowed to,” explained Hannah. “I’d say that today’s mission was a success,” declared Bobby. “Yes, it definitely was,” replied Narvy.

After that exchange of words, Narvy, Hannah, Edward, Rita, and Elsa walked down the staircase and headed to the second floor. Shortly after, Bobby did the same. They didn’t stay on the second floor for long. They only went down there because there was no way they could directly go from the third floor to the first floor. Once they reached the first floor, most of the Braw Agents left Halmarn Museum, but Bobby decided to stay there a little longer. He was so proud of his unorthodox victory, that he thought a celebration was in order.

Bobby decided to celebrate his success by visiting the marine life exhibition for the hundredth time. The dark walls, the blue lights, the ocean dioramas, and the preservation of the giant octopus were only some of the reasons Bobby loved the exhibition. He spent a good amount of time enjoying himself there. It was while he was wandering around the exhibit that he came to fully understand what Beth had told him a week prior. Putting practise and determination towards something, will always result in a satisfying outcome.
