Theodore De Luca, 18 years old, 195 cm and 80 kg. Hair black like the night sky and eyes brilliant like a set of Axinite gemstones, well built body and an outgoing character. By all standards a mighty catch, all the girls of the school wanted to be by his side and he was conscious about it... Not in an overbearing way though, you see he was not the arrogant type but he didn't lack self confidence either. A guy who knows his values, who knows his strengths and weaknesses, and of course ready to use them to their full potential. To go more in depth we could list some of his strongest points and the weakest, you see make some sort of table of comparison. He prided himself on being handsome, intelligent, passionate, determined, meticulous and pretty strong, with the same intensity he was prideful, jealous and had a really bad habit of holding grudges and he would not let anyone in his heart easily. He dated a girl last year, Ava, something casual for the both of them, she was a senior so one year older than him, though his fling didn't last long so they parted ways when she left to attend college. Theo didn't really love her, he cherished the time they had together of course out of respect to her but nothing else, he didn't like to joke around with other’s feelings. Ava and Theo were both curious, more than of each other, about the relationship itself, what it meant to be with another person and share everything together, that's why this sort of arrangement worked for the both of them. Of course, when the curiosity faded and monotony fell into a place that's when they decided to break things off. Mutual Decision, No Hard Feelings.
…
Theo was climbing the stairs, heading to his room after a boring day at school. The date is July 14th, The fourth anniversary of his mothers death. Every year on this day he is plagued by a deep sadness and melancholy, of course he would feel like that, his mother was the person he loved the most in the world, the source of his pride and joy.
His careful steps were approaching the desk, placed right below the opened window, the warm sun hitting his skin where a gentle breeze brought enough coolness to keep the heat from being too overbearing… His trembling hands were reaching for an old wooden box, then carefully opening it and going through the things inside. They were all his mothers belongings, as this was a ritual he would do only once a year.
He sat there contemplating for about an hour or so, with a crumpled old picture of him and his mother in his hands.
“Look at her, smiling so gently as if nothing was wrong” he murmured restlessly.
“I am a fool, I am a fool, I couldn't even see my mother’s suffering much less do anything about her. It's my fault, she left this world with sadness and suffering” - he kept repeating to himself while tears went down his eyes.
It was something he could never forgive to himself, the fact that his father was having an affair for so long and he didn't know, the fact that his mother knew this when she left this world and it was the last thing she knew before passing. Theo was in the same car as his mother, the moment the accident happened. His mind slowly drifted to that evening, it was a huge fight in the De Luca Manor, Elenor, his mother confronted Thomas, his dad for the years of unfaithfulness and he admitted to it. Elenor went crazy for some moments, Thomas was the light of her life. She never imagined something like this was unfolding when she thought she was so happy and peaceful with her family. She cried and cried, screamed, shouted and cursed both him and his mistress before leaving the house taking her son and nothing else. She was desperate, and Theo couldnt console her, he was simply in shock.. It was too much for him to process so he just followed her silently without uttering a word. That was the thing that hurt him the most, he doesn't remember much of that moment as the accident caused him some serious injuries, but from what he does remember, he didn't speak a single word to his mother in her most desperate moments of her life, and that would haunt him to his grave.
It was a blurry night for sure, that of the accident, yet he can't help but feel dubious of the circumstances. He had a strange feeling there was someone after the accident, as he keeps dreaming of another car coming their way and that causing the accident and not the carelessness of his mother, and that is something no one can take out of his mind.
“I will get to the bottom of this.” Said Theo in a firm voice, “There is no one that can stop me from uncovering the truth…”
