Zeldre: (grumbling) "Great, it’s like we’re walking into a crowd of judgmental stares."
Rim: (sniffing his sleeve) "Yeah, and I bet we smell like we’ve been rolling in garbage."
Innkeeper: (recoiling in disgust) "It’s not just how you look… You reek! People are staring—get out!"
: The innkeeper’s face twists in revulsion as he gestures towards the door. Gatto walks in just then, scanning the trio with a critical eye. Without a word, he strides over to Kurt, whose arm hangs limply.
Gatto: (calmly) "Let me take care of this."
Kurt: (wincing) "Thanks, Gatto. I thought I’d have to deal with this pain forever."
: Nina follows behind Gatto, her hands glowing faintly with a soft, healing light. She kneels by Kurt, her expression focused and serene. Rim and Zeldre watch in stunned silence as she begins to mend Kurt’s broken arm.
Zeldre: (eyes wide) "What is she doing? How is she doing that?"
Rim: (scratching his head) "Yeah, I’m not exactly sure what’s going on here."
: Gatto gives Zeldre a puzzled look, clearly surprised that someone wouldn’t know about healing magic. Nina glances up at Zeldre, her eyes reflecting both curiosity and a touch of amusement.
Nina: (softly) "It’s just a bit of healing magic. Nothing too extraordinary."
Zeldre: (still bewildered) "Healing magic? I’ve heard of it, but I didn’t think it was real."
Nina: (smiling) "Well, it’s very real. And it’s quite useful in situations like this."
: As the magic takes effect, Kurt’s arm is restored, but the trio remains dirty, their clothes still stained with blood and grime. They look more like their usual selves, but the stench remains.
Innkeeper: (sighing heavily) "Alright, boys, you’re not as filthy as you were, but you’re still pretty grimy. If you’ve got money, you can stay, but for Christ’s sake, go to the river and wash yourselves."
Zeldre: (nodding gratefully) "Thanks for the help. We’ll head to the river right after this."
Rim: (looking around) "Any chance we could get some food before we go?"
Innkeeper: (shaking his head) "First, get cleaned up. Then, you can come back for a meal. I’m not serving food to anyone who smells like that."
: The trio thanks Nina and Gatto, who both offer friendly nods. They exit the inn, their spirits lifted by the healing but still burdened by their disheveled appearance.
Kurt: (glancing at Gatto) "By the way, I didn’t catch your full name. Who are you exactly?"
Gatto: (smiling slightly) "I’m Gatto Devereux. Just a wanderer who happens to be in the right place at the right time."
Rim: (grinning) "Nice to meet you, Gatto. We really appreciate the help."
Gatto: (nodding) "No problem. Consider it a favor."
: As they continue to talk, Rim trips on a loose stone, causing a few silver and gold coins to spill onto the ground. The coins clatter and roll, drawing the attention of the trio.
Rim: (grinning) "Well, look at that! We’ve got some extra coinage!"
Zeldre: (helping to gather the coins) "Nice find. Every little bit helps."
: As they pick up the scattered coins, they remain oblivious to the thug lurking in the shadows, who watches their every move with a calculating gaze. The thug’s eyes glint with a hint of malice as he observes the trio, clearly interested in their situation.
: With their newfound money safely collected, the trio heads towards the river, ready to wash off the grime and hopefully find a decent meal afterward.
As Rim stumbled over a loose stone, Kurt and Zeldre couldn't hold back their laughter. "Nice one, Rim!" Kurt said, chuckling. "You're a real klutz."
Zeldre laughed too. "Watch where you're going, or you'll trip us all up!"
Coins began to roll out from Rim's pocket, scattering across the cobblestones. The trio's eyes widened in surprise.
"Look at that!" Zeldre said, scooping up some of the coins. "We've actually got money!"
Kurt's face lit up. "We're not exactly rich, but this is a great find!"
Rim, grinning, joined in. "Yeah, this could help us get some better gear or food."
Just then, Geeta and Nina approached. Geeta glanced at the coins and said, "Nice haul. If you need help figuring out what to do with it, we know a few places that could be useful."
Nina nodded in agreement. "We can point you to some spots where you can get better supplies or find a safe place. But it's late, and you all look exhausted."
Understanding they wouldn't get immediate help, Zeldre agreed. "Thanks, we appreciate it. We'll head into the woods for the night and figure things out tomorrow."
