It might have been three days since the fiasco at Bytari, but Narvy hadn’t stopped thinking about it. He spent all day trying to discover the hacker’s identity and refused to rest until he did. Eventually, he thought of an idea. He grabbed his phone and sent a message to the other Braw Agents. Hi guys, let’s meet up at our mobile base, he texted. Once he sent the message, he received replies within a matter of seconds from the Braw Agents. Okay. Sure. On my way.
The mobile base was parked near The Engineering Club, which was where Narvy currently was. He didn’t have to walk far, but he knew his friends did, so he remained patient until they came. Eventually, the other Braw Agents made their way to the bus. It was just like their first time entering it, but this time it was in the middle of the day and without their fancy outfits.
“What’s this all about?” asked Bobby. “Ever since that incident at the ball, I’ve been trying to figure out who that hacker is,” answered Narvy. He took out some sheets of paper. “I managed to get a list of all the attendees. I was thinking we could go through them together,” he added. “Alright,” commented Elsa. “We’re doing this because we all think differently, and you guys might pick up on something I didn’t,” replied Narvy. The sheets of paper were placed on the desk. Six pairs of eyes hovered over them, as they tried to analyse their contents. Each sheet had several names written on it as well as some pictures and other information. “Okay, we’re definitely not hackers, and I doubt Julia would be one either,” claimed Elsa. “Now, on to these guys. Any suggestions?” she added.
Hannah looked at every sheet closely, hoping to find something. Eventually, she got what she wanted. “I think she’s up to something,” claimed Hannah, as she pointed to a picture. It featured a middle-aged woman with short, curly blonde hair and an expensive white fur coat. “That’s Lucintae Thompson,” stated Narvy as he read the name under the picture. “Why do you think she’s the hacker?” he added. “Just look at her. She’s clearly rich. You can’t get a coat like that at HighQ LowC. All that money had to have come from somewhere,” explained Hannah. “Good assumption,” commented Narvy. “Thanks,” replied Hannah. “She’s got a red beryl necklace; those are worth at least ten thousand dollars,” stated Elsa. “That just proves my point further,” stated Hannah. “Okay, I’ll definitely take Lucintae into consideration. Let’s see if there’s someone else we can look into as well,” replied Narvy.
For the next ten minutes, the Braw Agents analysed the papers in front of them. They theorised about many different culprits only to find gaping holes in their theories. In the middle of it all, Elsa suggested an idea to the group. “The hacker would probably be someone who’s good with computers,” explained Elsa. She navigated the selection of photos and names, hoping to find something. When she least expected it, she came across some interesting information. Everyone turned to Elsa as she read out loud.
“Zach Gillroy, a skilled programmer and an award-winning game developer, spent three years studying digital technology at Fluvaria University,” said Elsa as she read the block of text. Above it was a photo of a young man with wavy black hair, a black pullover hoodie, and a silver headset. “Alright, that’s another one. Good spotting, Elsa,” commented Narvy, once she was done reading. “Thanks,” replied Elsa.
Bobby looked through the papers and found a picture. It featured a handsome man with combed black hair and a loud yellow and aqua shirt. Underneath it was the name ‘Adam Ellwood’. Two seconds later, he realised who the name belonged to. “You know that game show, $urprise!?” asked Bobby. “It’s coming to HighQ LowC tomorrow and the host is listed as one of the suspects,” he added. “How do you know he will be in HighQ LowC?” asked Narvy. “I was in HighQ LowC this morning and there were advertisements everywhere,” answered Bobby. “I think it’s worth checking him out,” he added. “Alright, we can do that,” replied Narvy.
$urprise! is a game show renowned throughout the country. It features Adam Ellwood, and he asks the contestants trivial questions. Some are straightforward, while some contain riddles. Many prizes can be won from the game such as gadgets, modest amounts of cash, or even the iconic grand prize, a golden trophy embellished with sixty emeralds. Rumour has it that nobody has ever won the trophy.
Narvy suggested an idea to the other Braw Agents. “We’ve got three suspects. I think we should go out tomorrow and investigate them,” he announced. “Good idea. I’ll attend $urprise! and see what Adam’s up to,” replied Bobby. “Can I come with you?” asked Rita. “Sure,” answered Bobby. “I’ll go to Lucintae’s house,” said Hannah. “I’ll come with you,” replied Edward. “Okay, Elsa, looks like we’re visiting Zach,” announced Narvy. At that moment Elsa realised a problem with Narvy’s suggestion. “Yeah, sorry. I can’t do that tomorrow,” claimed Elsa. “Why not?” asked Narvy. “I was going to hang out with Julia. We both promised to meet at Bytari,” explained Elsa. “Okay, how about you hang out with Julia tomorrow and we can investigate Zach another day?” suggested Narvy. “Good idea. Let’s do that,” replied Elsa.
“So, what are you going to do tomorrow, Narvy?” asked Rita. “I think I’ll attend $urprise! with you and Bobby,” answered Narvy. “It could end up being quite fun,” he added. With all the talk about $uprise!, a question occurred to Bobby. “I just thought of something,” he announced. “Why don’t we just go to the Trooth Booth and instantly find the hacker’s identity?” he asked. “I tried that yesterday, but the staff just said that nobody knows the hacker’s identity, including them,” answered Narvy. “But it’s the place that holds the truth to everything,” replied Bobby. “That’s what I thought, but according to them, the Trooth Booth is the source of truth, not the source of answers to literally everything,” explained Narvy.
Shortly after, the Braw Agents’ schedule was finalised, and everyone still agreed with what they’d decided to do. “So, what do we do now?” asked Bobby. “I guess we can call it a day and end the meeting,” answered Narvy. “You can stay here or go somewhere else, feel free to do whatever you like,” he added. “Okay. I’ll meet you at HighQ LowC tomorrow. Bye,” said Bobby. He then left the bus to go and do his own thing. Hannah, Edward, Rita, and Elsa all said bye to Narvy before leaving themselves. Not long after, Narvy also left the bus and went back to The Engineering Club. The Braw Agents had a variety of feelings towards the upcoming day. Elsa couldn’t wait to spend time with Julia. Narvy was excited to start investigating people. Bobby and Rita were interested to see what competing in $urprise! was like, and Hannah and Edward were uncertain as to what type of person Lucintae would be. Regardless of how they felt, everyone was ready for the day ahead of them.
After defeating the stone warriors, the Braw Agents have been invited to the prestigious Ball of Honour, a place filled with benevolent people, or so they think. During the event, a disaster breaks loose and reveals one of the guests to be a hacker. Can the Braw Agents unmask this secret crime lord?
