Meanwhile, Elsa was sitting in Julia’s car as they drove through the scenic countryside. It had been that way for the last two and a half hours since Julia had picked her up from Fluvaria. “What are we going to do in Bytari?” asked Elsa. “It’s a surprise, but you’re going to love it,” answered Julia. At the Ball of Honour Julia had worn an elegant jade-green dress. Now, she was wearing a more relaxed crimson dress with a black blazer over it.
Once they reached Bytari, Julia parked the car in the middle of the city. They both got out and walked down the footpath. “It’s somewhere over there,” said Julia, while pointing ahead of them. Elsa couldn’t wait to see what her aunt had in store for her. When they got to their destination, Elsa was taken aback by what she saw. “The Diamond Spa Centre! I’ve wanted to come here for years,” stated Elsa. “I’ve read great things about this place, but Mum’s always said she’s not going to drive for three hours just to go to a Spa,” she added. “Well, you’re here now, so let’s go in and enjoy ourselves,” replied Julia.
Without any further ado, Elsa and Julia walked towards the fancy building and entered the Spa. An array of beauty treatment options greeted them. There were couches, massage tables, a jacuzzi, and a hairdressing area, all of which lay in a modern room with a relaxing vibe. Just then, an employee approached Elsa and Julia. “Hello, welcome to The Diamond Spa Centre. How may I help you?” she asked in a soothing voice. Neither of them knew how to answer the question, so they eyed the room and quickly chose something. “I would like a massage, please,” replied Julia. “I’ll have some hair and skin treatment,” replied Elsa. “Okay, that will be a total of one-hundred-and-eighty dollars,” explained the employee. “You can get changed in that room over there,” she added.
Julia took out her wallet and paid for the upcoming treatments, then she and Elsa walked into the changing rooms wearing their normal outfits and came out in white bathrobes. Julia approached a massage table and laid down on her stomach, while Elsa sat in a hairdresser’s chair. Shortly after, two employees came to attend to them. “Alright, I’m ready to do your massage, do you have any preferences or things you want me to know about before we begin?” asked the therapist. “I don’t mind how my massage goes as long as it’s comfortable,” replied Julia. “Okay, let’s begin. Now lie still,” ordered the therapist.
“Are you ready for your treatment?” the beautician asked Elsa. “Yes,” Elsa replied excitedly. “Would you like me to do your hair or the facial first?” asked the beautician. “The facial, please,” answered Elsa. The beautician rubbed some lotion between the palms of her hands to create foam. She then smothered Elsa’s face with the substance. Elsa’s eyes were covered by slices of cucumber shortly after.
“So, Elsa, how have you been these last couple of days?” asked Julia. Even though the bowl behind Elsa’s chair was being filled with water, she could still hear her. “Good, what about you?” she replied. “I’m doing well. I’ve just been working at the Print Agency, like usual,” replied Julia. While they were talking, the beautician undid Elsa’s hair and submerged it in the water, then she started massaging shampoo into Elsa’s hair. “The Ball of Honour was fun, wasn’t it,” stated Julia. “Yeah, but I wish it didn’t end so early,” replied Elsa. “It’s a shame that fire broke out,” commented Julia. “Want to know something funny?” asked Elsa. “That fire wasn’t actually real.” “What do you mean by that?” asked Julia. “It was faked. Some hacker stole files from a computer and set off the fire alarm as a distraction,” explained Elsa. “Do you know who did this?” asked Julia. “No, but my friends are looking into it,” answered Elsa. “Three of them are investigating a game show host and two of them are investigating a rich woman,” she added.
“Your friends sound like very cool people. I remember that crime-fighting boy, Bobby, from the ball. Who are the others?” asked Julia. “Well there’s Narvy, who’s into engineering, Hannah, who’s a writer, Edward, who’s a basketball player and his sister Rita, who’s a gymnast,” explained Elsa. “Very interesting,” commented Julia. “We haven’t arranged a date yet, but I’m going to investigate a programmer with Narvy in a couple of days’ time,” said Elsa. “Good luck, I hope it goes well,” replied Julia.
Just then, the beautician interrupted their conversation. “Would you like some plant powder in your treatment?” she asked. “What plants do you have?” asked Elsa. “We have rose, lavender, jasmine, kowhai and Aparajita,” explained the beautician. “I’ll take a little bit of rose, a bit of kowhai and some Aparajita,” replied Elsa. Shortly after, small piles of red, yellow, and blue dust fell into the water and evaporated.
For the next hour, Elsa and Julia relaxed and enjoyed their spa treatments. Eventually, the beautician and therapist announced they were finished. “Okay, you’re good to go,” they told their respective clients. Julia got up and walked away from the table. Elsa grabbed her hair ties and went into the changing rooms with Julia. “That was awesome, thank you so much for bringing me here,” said Elsa, while she was tying her braids. “You’re very welcome,” replied Julia. As they left the Spa Julia turned to Elsa. “What else would you like to do today?” asked Julia. “I’d like to look at a couple of clothing shops,” answered Elsa. “Good idea. I know a lot of great places around here,” replied Julia.
Shortly after, Elsa and Julia went to a clothing shop named Giar Dom. The shop was massive and had a wide variety of clothes and accessories, from dresses to shoes and handbags. Elsa grabbed a couple of items and went to the counter to buy them. But when she pulled out her wallet, something unusual happened. “Don’t worry, I’ll pay for them,” announced Julia. “But I have my wallet. I can pay for them,” replied Elsa. “I know, but I’d like to. I love you,” explained Julia. “Alright, and thank you,” replied Elsa. After the purchase had been made, Elsa and Julia left Giar Dom and went off to explore another shop.
Within thirty minutes, the two of them had looked in many shops. They were all full of fashionable clothes. Elsa picked up a couple more things from some of them. By the end of it, her arms were like tree branches, with shopping bags hanging from them like big leaves. “Today was amazing. Thank you so much for bringing me on this trip,” said Elsa. “You’re welcome. Would you like to do something like this again?” asked Julia. “Well, I promised Narvy that I would investigate a programmer, but after that’s done, sure,” answered Elsa. “I better be getting home now, it’s getting late,” she announced. “Okay, see you later. Bye,” replied Julia. Elsa walked away from Julia and headed to the train station. Once she got there, she bought a ticket that would allow her to go from Bytari to Fluvaria. Elsa couldn’t wait for her next trip with Julia. But first, she had to investigate a programmer with Narvy.
