In the grasslands of the Meso continent, it is quiet and peaceful as the herd goes about its day. Little does the herd know, an Inferno lion named Leonne is watching from a distance, hidden by shrubbery and shadow. Leonne is waiting for one of the Cyberbeasts to isolate itself from the herd. He waits for the perfect moment to sting his trap, when a Gigaloceros strays too far from the herd. Leonne sets a nearby bush on fire in hopes that the herd will panic and flee from the sight.
Meanwhile, Tyrannos and Stera sit beside each other near the river when the sense something. They smell something fowl, something warm. Toro and Titus also pick up on this scent. It quickly dawns on them what the smell is, smoke and where there is smoke, there is fire. Titus alerts the herd with a bellowing call, warning the herd of danger. The fire spreads as Toro and Titus do everything they can to evacuate the herd. Tyrannos and Stera, seeing the fire grow, make their way towards the rest of the herd. Just then, a tree falls in between Tyrannos and Stera, barely missing the two of them. Stera points towards a clearing in the wildfire, letting Tyrannos know where to meet with her and the herd. Tyrannos nods and makes his way towards the clearing.
Tyrannos runs as everything around him burns. The heat is much more intense on him due the fact that his species has adapted to colder climates. As the fires rage around him, Tyrannos hears a screeching noise close to him. He looks and sees the Cyberbeast responsible for the fire, the fire highlighting the orange and gold fur of the Cyberbeast. In his mouth, Leonne holds the fresh kill of a Gigaloceros. Tyrannos begins to feel rage build inside him upon seeing the Inferno lion. His spines glow a bright icy blue as Tyrannos opens his jaws. In a flash, Tyrannos fires a stream of ice at Leonne. Leonne barely dodges the attack with the Elk in his mouth. Taking the opportunity, Leonne bolts out of the area with his kill. As Tyrannos is about to fire another shot, he hears Stera calling for him in the distance. Tyrannos, frustrated by what happened, leaves the burning grasslands to reunite with Stera and the herd.
Stera waits outside the fire, worried about Tyrannos' well-being. She releases a bellowing call in hopes that Tyrannos will hear her. Just then, Tyrannos bursts out of the fire before collapsing in front of Stera. Stera helps Tyrannos up and the two watch as what was their home is burnt to the ground. Tyrannos and Stera look on with sadness as the fire rages on, laying waste to the grassland. Elsewhere, Leonne feasts on the body of the Gigaloceros. But something keeps bothering him. Why was a Cryotyrannus, one of Cyverus' apex predators, living among its prey? Why would it protect its prey instead of hunting it? Leonne ponders these questions as he continues to feast on his kill while watching his flames burn.
