"FUCK" Soham whispered-yelled to the mirror before extending his fist backwards then violently landing it on his own cheekbone "Fucking dumbass, why're you so fucking dumb you motherfucker, why are you such a fucking looser, you're so fucking dumb" He kept inflicting pain to the cause of all this "fucking brainless bastard why'd you do that" More pain "fuck, shit, shit" A self punishment "What the fuck-" 

The yell transcended the whisper "IS WRONG WITH YOU ?!"

The damp and cold room could not answer to his question.

Meanwhile, Kai was slowly pushing down the handle. 

The door shrieked, revealing a luminous room.

"HEYY !" Confetti exploded then Mia and Caleb made their appearance from behind the couch and Kai's heart dropped.

Mia raised her arms strangely covered by...black fur ? "WE HAVE A NEW ROOMATE !"

The cat was as baffled as Kai "...Yeah, whatever" He headed upstairs.

A lighter ; the damp and cold air entering the room ; the quiet lights of the small city ; fume evading his lips.

 

Kai starred far away although he could only see his thoughts. He took out his phone, thumb sliding down, and down, and down, and down.

Few scrolls later.

A harsh scroll down.

Still no answer.

The phone was ringing "Come on pick up" He muttered sucking in his lower lip.

Kai chocked on his cigarette and coughed.

"Are you okay ?" The soft voice asked.

He tapped the top of his thorax "I'm ok I'm ok" To the deep silence he added "I missed your voice"

"You're free tomorrow ?"

A knot formed in Kai's chest "When are you free ?"

"..."

"You said...You said you regretted it- Breaking up I mean"

Kai took a quiet inspiration of smoke "I'll come see you tomorrow, for lunch"

"...ok" The high pitch tone sounded worried and sorry "Ok sure"

"..."

"...Good night, sleep well"
