"Don’t worry, you don’t need to wake up" says a sweet voice over the annoying sound of the alarm that keeps going at full pace. I just thought Azel’s voice is sweet? I regard while the alarm keeps ringing. God what a nuisance! Would someone tell me what time it is?
I barely open my eyes and see Azel turning off the alarm clock and start packing a backpack with every weapon in his possession. I can swear that I have counted more than ten, ranging from the smallest daggers to poison-soaked blades. Where is he going?
"What are you doing?" I ask him, standing up and glancing at the clock.
"It’s six in the morning and I have to go to train" he replies grumbly.
"Yes, exactly... It’s six in the morning and I hate getting up so early when I know I can sleep more!"
"Well, then you had to tell me last night so I wouldn’t set the alarm clock" he replies with disinterest continuing to put weapons of all kinds in his backpack.
"I would have done it if you had given me the chance to speak!" I exclaim nervous.
"Whatever, but I can’t talk to you, now. I promise I won’t put the alarm on anymore, okay!?"
"Where are you going?"
"I’m going to the Life Death City" he says taking his backpack and heading for the door.
"Are you crazy, by chance!? That city is full of thugs and insane psychopaths" I say, looking at him quite upset.
"That’s why I’m going. I need dragon tears and the city is not far from school. I’ll be here by nine and get permission"
"How do you think to do it?! Do you think your father or mother would agree?"
"Look, Yuma, it’s none of your business!" he exclaims annoyed and then gets his keys from the table. Instinctively I stand in front of the door and try to prevent him from leaving.
"You don’t think this will stop me?!" he says confidently.
"I won’t let you out of this door!" I reply more firmly than ever.
"Do as you please!"
He leans forward and in a quick movement, he kicks me, throwing me on the wall from across the room. Damn it! How did he do that? I didn’t even see him.
"You broke the second rule! Don’t upset me! I’d say you deserved it!" he exclaims with a malicious smirk on his face and then leaves the room. I can’t stand him when he does that! I get back on my feet and, since my sleep is ruined, I start to prepare myself. Once I’m done I realize that I still have time before the lessons so I take advantage of it to go and see Nick. I take my keys and leave the room; not less than ten minutes later, I cross him in the corridor.
"Hey! Where are you going?" I ask him, calling him back.
"Yuma, good! I was precisely coming to see you!" he exclaims with the typical expression of someone who is running away from something or maybe someone.
"Did something happen?"
"No. It’s just that my roommate is a little bit eccentric"
"What does that mean?" I ask with a curious frown. I look at him carefully and it seems he's going back in time with his mind.
Flashback
"Heylà. You must be my new roommate!" he exclaims amused.
"Yes! It’s a real pleasure to meet you! I’m Nick" I say with confidence.
"I’m Luke" he says coming towards me. He seems a nice guy I consider relieved. He has reddish hair that reminds me a little of Yuma. His eyes are blue and he has the typical bad-boy look.
"You’ll see! I’m sure we’ll get along well"
"I’m glad!" I exclaim relieved.
"I’ve already seen some girls. What do you say we meet them tomorrow?" he asks me with a mischievous look.
"Sorry, I’m not interested!" I reply quietly.
"Come on! You’re not going to be engaged or anything like that, are you?" he asks amused.
"No! No! Certainly not! What are you going to think?" I reply, trying to look as natural as possible.
"Then don’t bother. I’m not offended" he says immediately after slapping me on the shoulder.
"No thanks. I’m not frankly interested"
"Do as you please!"
I walk away from him and start organising my things, but I get distracted when he pulls off his shirt and pants remaining only in boxers.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm stripping! What is it? Don’t tell me you sleep in your pyjamas?!" he exclaims, laughing.
"No, of course. What a fool!" I say, turning around and continuing to pack my stuff. It’s not possible! Here it ends very badly! How did I happen to be with such a guy?!
End flashback
"Nick, is everything okay?" I ask him worried, shaking him by an arm.
"Yes! Yes, relax! I was just lost in my thoughts. Nothing special! Rather, with who are you in the room?"
"Guess what! With Azel!" I answer him with a snort.
"Ahahah! I’d say you didn't do badly!"
"Please, I don’t want to talk about it. Let’s go to class!"
-
After the first hour, I try to go into the corridor to stretch my legs, but I don't have time to leave the door as I clash with Azel.
"Again! Though it can know where your head is when you walk?!" he says annoyed.
"You’re the one who’s always coming at me"
"Yes indeed. Now move that I have to hand over the permit!"
"Eh? How did you get it so fast?" I ask surprised.
"I already told you! It’s none of your business!" he says, going over me with a push on the shoulder and talking to the teacher. It’s never possible! When will he learn to be kinder?!
The next four hours pass quickly. The new teachers tell us what the school program will be and we try to organize the assignments and the rest of the week. Finally, we head to the cafeteria for lunch and retire to our rooms to rest before magic lessons.
I have been lying on the bed staring at the ceiling for about twenty minutes. Now and then, I point my gaze at Azel who is busy reading the book he had last night and doesn’t say a word. What will be interesting in that book? And I would also like to ask him how it went at Life Death. That place is insane but I’m sure if I asked him that, he wouldn’t answer me.
'Tok, tok'
Someone knocks on the door. Who will it be at this hour? I get out of bed and go to open.
"Don’t do it" Azel intervenes.
"You can’t tell me what to do!" I come closer to the door and open it.
"Hi! Is Azel here, by chance?!" asks a girl without letting me speak.
I stared at her without a word. She has a perfect physique, an eye-catching look with purple eyes and long blonde hair that falls gently on her back.
"I told you not to open it!" he says with a sigh of frustration. Okay... I have to stop being silent and who is this?
"May I come in?" she asks kindly.
"Sure, come in" I’ll tell her.
Azel stands up and goes to meet her.
"How nice! I finally see you again" she says, hugging him and kissing his cheek. It’s not his girlfriend, right? But then, what should matter to me?! I’m not in love with him! I think, denying it.
"Please, I’ve told you a thousand times that I don’t like being touched! Rather, what are you doing here?"
"Uff, you're always the same! What questions is this?! I came to see you"
"Good. Now that you’ve done it, you can go back to where you came from" he says annoyed.
"Lately, You’ve been so grumpy! Why don’t we go for a walk in the gardens?" the girl asks taking him by the arm.
"Alexa, now I don’t feel like it! Next time, okay?" he replies with a snort.
"Okay. I’ll go then!" she says trying to hug him again, but he promptly turns away and looks at her annoyed.
"You must not touch me! How many times do I have to tell you?!" he exclaims angrily.
She gives him a look back and leaves the room indignant, slamming the door.
Meanwhile, I look at Azel puzzled by his cold behavior towards that girl.
And here we are with the fourth chapter!!!
Let us make our summary.
Azel needed the dragon tears. Who knows why? Nick in the room with Luke!? We’ll see some beautiful ones!
Towards the end of the chapter, Alexa makes an appearance. Why is she so attached to Azel?
I expect many comments and votes🤗
