Later that night, Shiori enjoys a hot shower, washing her hair. It’s around 11 pm now. Her parents are getting ready for bed and Riku is already fast asleep. She finishes up and steps out, hair covering her eye again. After she cleans up, she wraps the towel around herself and quickly walks across the hallway straight into her room. Her hair is down going down to the middle of her shoulders. She grabs the ends of the towel with her back facing her window and begins to pull it apart when she hears a noise. She looks at her window with open curtains, not worrying since they are on the second floor of the apartment building, only to see Hikigaya’s head pop up.
“Hey Shiori, I-”
He immediately stops and realizes what he’s looking at. He blushes as his nosebleeds a bit before he freaks out and ducks but under the window.
“I’m so sorry!”
He shouts as she blushes intensely. She quickly gets dressed and bolts to her window with anger and embarrassment, shooting her head through.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing!?”
She shouts, staring down at him. Hikigaya sits with his back to the wall under her window and his hands over his head. He slowly looks up at her before he jumps back and stands up.
“It’s not what it looks like!”
“Then why are you here? Sneaking around a girls bedroom when she’s changing! Pervert!”
She shouts, insulting him. Hikigaya gets flustered and responds angrily to the insult.
“Yeah right. Like I’d ever perv on a flat chested girl like you.”
He sticks his tongue out at her. She gets even more mad.
“Oh yeah?! I’ll show you a flat chest!”
She dives out her window with a grunt and tackles Hikigaya to the floor where they start wrestling. They go at it until the sliding glass door from the living room opens up, the light of the living room grabbing their attention. Riku stands in the doorway looking down on both of them menacingly. They stare at him for a moment, stunned before getting looks of dread as he opens his mouth and takes a deep breath in.
“Maaa! Shiori is flirting with that boy from earlier again!”
Shiori quickly tackles Riku over and starts pulling his cheek again.
“I am not flirting with this jerk!”
As she does this, Hamasaki comes out and goes to the kitchen, sleepily pouring herself a glass of water.
“*yawn* It’s okay sweetie. It’s normal to flirt at this age.”
“Mama?!”
Shiori is stunned. Hamasaki just smiles at her. Shiori is then grabbed by the shoulders, pulled back and spun around. Hikigaya holds her and looks at her with his head lowered a bit.
“Look, I didn’t mean to disturb your family. Haru and I made some plans and it’d really help if I could… get your number…”
He looks away from her, blushing. Shiori blushes a bit too at the request.
‘He’s asking for my number?’
She thinks, completely caught off guard by the request. He notices this and blushes a bit more.
“Come on, don’t make it weird. It’s what friends do, right?”
She nods her head softly, basically forgetting everything that just happened, as he lets her go. They quickly exchange numbers in awkward silence for a moment before Hikigaya steps back and bows to Hamasaki, Riku and Shiori. Takanou is still in bed.
“I’m very sorry for disturbing your family. I didn’t mean to.”
He apologizes. Hamasaki waves her hand gently at him.
“No worries dear. We’ll survive.”
She smiles at him. He turns awkwardly, rubbing the back of his head, before approaching the edge of the patio to jump over the railing back to his own patio. Shiori interrupts him before he could make the jump.
“You know, you could always just use the front door.”
She says, still blushing just a bit. He gets embarrassed and annoyed before he jumps back home. Shiori stares at him for a moment before exhaling softly and heading back inside herself. Hamasaki takes Riku and puts him back to bed then kisses Shiori goodnight on the forehead before going to bed too. Once Shiori is back in her room, she closes her door and gets into bed. Before she goes to sleep, however, her phone rings. She got a text. She grabs her phone and reads it. It’s from Hikigaya.
‘I’m sorry for disturbing you’
She giggles just once, quietly then replies.
‘You’re okay. Talk to you tomorrow?’
‘Yeah’
He replies. She smiles warmly staring at her phone then puts it down and rolls over. As she falls asleep, we get a wide view of her apartment complex. Looking up to the roof under the clear, moonlit night sky, there appear to be a man crouching on the roof.
