Megachile pluto (Hymenoptera: Megachilidae) is an endemic species of bee from Maluku Utara province (North Molluccas) in Indonesia. IUCN has established this species as vulnerable. Unfortunately, as of now, there is only a few things known about this species, making an effort to preserve this largest bee in the world.
Drawing this episode, I had to do a lot of research, especially for the last page. Beef rendang anyone?
