After the call ended, I noticed everyone in the limo staring at me. Their expressions were hard to read, but it felt like they wanted to ask something yet held back. Perhaps it was because they didn’t want to get too close to me—or maybe they didn’t trust me, just as I wasn’t sure I trusted them yet.
Yn – It was a call from one of my board members.
Jimin – But we... we didn’t ask.
Yn – Your expressions said enough. I thought I should explain.
Jin – It’s fine. So, how much longer until we arrive?
Yn – About 10 to 15 minutes more.
Suga – Wake me up when we get there. I need a nap.
Tae – Hyung, all you ever want to do is sleep!
Suga – Do you have a problem with that? If you do, let me know—I’ll deal with it in a very effective way.
Tae – No, no, Hyung! I-I don’t have a problem. Sleeping is great! Did you know humans spend about 6–8 hours sleeping every day?
Suga – Hmm...
With that, Yoongi leaned back and drifted off to sleep. The rest of us chuckled quietly, trying not to disturb him. Even I found myself smiling at Tae’s nervous antics. But there was one person who wasn’t laughing—Jungkook.
I couldn’t help but notice him. He rarely joined in on our sibling conversations or bickering. He only seemed to engage when things got serious or when someone was in danger. His distant demeanor intrigued me. What was going on with him? Why was he like this?
JK’s POV:
We’re sitting in the limo, heading to a new place after the inquiry session. Apparently, Yn needs Jin Hyung’s help, though I’m not sure why. But since he agreed, we all decided to accompany her. The car was quiet, with everyone lost in their own thoughts, until Yn broke the silence.
She didn’t just speak; she asked for something—our permission. She wanted us to meet her company’s board members. It made sense, considering the collaboration meeting we have tomorrow. Knowing the key people in her company would help. After all, she already knows a lot about ours. And, well, since we’re all about to become family, it felt like another step in that direction.
At first, Jimin Hyung declined, pointing out that it was late, and we still needed to get home. But then Tae Hyung asked a question that piqued my curiosity: Does Yn live with her board members? Something about the question struck me, and before I realized it, I’d asked her the same thing, but in a much more serious tone.
I don’t even know why I reacted like that. Did I accept her? No, that couldn’t be it. I can’t accept anyone else as my sister—only her. I promised myself that I’d never replace her, that no one would ever take her place in my heart.
Lost in my thoughts, memories of my carrot flooded back to me. I could almost see her, the way we’d bicker over the smallest things, the way Hyung would try to mediate between us. Those two years spent with her were heaven. The time we shared felt perfect—every moment.
I miss her. I miss her so much. And the more I look at Yn, the more I’m reminded of her. The way she smiles, the way she carries herself, even her height—it all mirrors her so closely. Why does Yn seem so much like her?
Flashback:
Girl – Yah! You coconut head, are you coming or not? We’re going to be late for the concert!
JK – Yah! How dare you call me a coconut head? Do you know I’m older than you?
Girl – Okay, then. Oldie, are you coming or not? It’s already 6:00 PM, and the concert starts at 7:00 PM!
JK – Fine, fine! I’m ready; just let me grab my phone.
Girl – Hurry up! Rudra and I are already waiting in the car.
JK – Carrot, why Rudra? You promised we’d spend time together, so why is he coming?
Yn – Sorry, Bunny, but he’s our best friend, and Sunshine asked me not to leave him alone. Please try to understand, okay? We’ll spend time together when Sunshine gets here.
JK – Ah, fine. I’m coming. Wait for me in the car.
After grabbing his phone, Jungkook joined Yn and Rudra in the car, and they headed to the concert hall. But luck wasn’t on their side—the entrance had closed by the time they arrived. Yn was both sad and furious, having missed her favorite artist's concert because of Jungkook's delay.
JK – Carrot, I’m really sorry. I didn’t know they’d close the doors early.
Yn – Bunny, don’t talk to me. I’m not in the mood.
JK – Carrot, please! I promise I’ll ask Hobi Hyung to get you the entire album set. Just don’t stop talking to me. You know I can’t handle that.
Yn – Go away, Jungkook. I can ask Hobi Oppa for the album myself. Rudra, let’s go.
Rudra – Uh... Yn, I know you’re upset, but we can’t just leave like this. Besides, Hobi Hyung didn’t cook today because he had an important meeting.
JK – Carrot, he’s right. Let’s eat something first, and then we can head home.
Yn – Fine. But let me be clear: I’m eating with you only for Oppa’s sake. Don’t think for a second that I’ve forgiven you.
JK – I know, I know. You can’t say no to Hobi Hyung or... your Bunny.
Yn – Shut up, Jungkook! Don’t give yourself so much credit. It’s only for Oppa’s sake.
JK – (grinning) Yeah, yeah. Just for Oppa. Right, Rudra?
Rudra – (laughing) Totally. Just for Oppa’s sake.
Yn – Stop teasing me, both of you! You know I can’t say no to food, and you’re just taking advantage of that.
Rudra – We know you too well, Yn-ah.
JK – And we know you can’t stay mad at us for more than five minutes.
Yn – (rolling her eyes) Yeah, yeah. Don’t get too smug about it. You two are talking way too much. Just wait until I tell Oppa about this!
With that, Yn dashed off to the restaurant, leaving the two boys chuckling behind her. They had dinner together, despite Yn’s feigned annoyance, and eventually returned home. Yn, Jungkook, Hobi, and Rudra all lived together—though Rudra stayed only on weekends, while the rest of them lived together full-time.
Once they arrived home, Yn wasted no time recounting the entire incident to Hobi. As expected, Hobi scolded Jungkook and Rudra for upsetting his “princess,” while Yn stood in the corner laughing at their predicament.
Flashback Ends
After recalling the flashback, a few tears slipped down Jungkook’s cheeks. It didn’t go unnoticed.
Suga – Jungkook, what’s wrong? Why are you crying? (his voice laced with concern)
All eyes immediately turned to their maknae. Some looked on in worry, wondering why he was upset, while others guessed he was once again missing her. They all knew about the incident between Jungkook and Hobi—the fights and the heartbreak—all except for one person: Yn.
Yn, now even more curious, furrowed her brows as countless questions swirled in her mind. Why is he crying? Who is "her"? What happened between him and Hobi? But she knew this wasn’t the right time to get answers.
JK – I’m not crying. Something just got in my eye. (he said in a cold tone)
Everyone in the car knew it was a lie. The way his voice wavered ever so slightly betrayed his words. But they also knew Jungkook wouldn’t open up if pressured. He would likely shut them out entirely or walk away without saying anything further.
Silence fell over the car, thick and heavy, until Jimin decided to break the tension.
Jimin – I think we’ve arrived. Let’s get out of the limo.
The group exchanged glances, silently agreeing to let it go for now. One by one, they stepped out, each lost in their own thoughts but keenly aware of the sadness lingering around Jungkook.
BTS POV (except J-Hope):
After stepping out of the limo, we walked toward a grand, beautiful house. Its elegance and intricate architecture caught our attention, leaving us momentarily in awe. Yn approached the door and rang the bell.
A few moments later, a young man in his 20s opened the gate. His demeanor was professional yet friendly. He bowed respectfully to Yn first and then to us before introducing himself.
??? – Hello, my name is He LuoLuo. You can also call me Stark. I’m the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) of Yn’s company.
Yn – Can we get in now? (her tone cold and composed)
Stark – Oh, yes! Of course.
Yn – Luo, take them to the living room. Also, tell me where Ding is.
Stark – He’s in the third room upstairs. And sirs, please follow me this way.
Yn – Alright. Jin Hyung, come with me. (her tone cold but polite)
Jin – Sure, let’s go.
With that, Yn led Jin away with a confident stride, while Stark—whether we should call him Luo or Stark, we weren’t sure—gestured for the rest of us to follow him to the living room.
With Yn and Jin:
Yn walked purposefully, her pace brisk and determined as they ascended the staircase toward the third room. Jin followed her silently, observing her focus and sensing the gravity of the situation.
When they reached the door, Yn paused for a moment and glanced at Jin.
Yn – Jin Hyung, when you see him, please stay calm. He’s... important to me.
Jin – Don’t worry. I’ll handle it.
With a deep breath, Yn pushed the door open.
YN POV
I took Jin Hyung to Lao Ding’s room. He had been suffering from severe allergies for the past 2-3 days. We had tried all kinds of medicines, but nothing seemed to work. Frustrated and concerned, I contacted one of my personal doctors in Australia. He recommended a specialist, none other than Kim Seokjin. That’s why I brought Jin Hyung with me tonight.
When we reached the door of the room, I opened it and immediately felt my blood boil.
The entire room was a disaster—clothes scattered everywhere, empty chip packets littering the floor, and cold drink bottles piled in a corner. It didn’t look like a patient’s room; it looked like a garbage dump. My eyes landed on the culprit, sitting on the bed casually scrolling through his phone.
Yn – "CHEN ZHIYUAN! IS THIS HOW YOU TAKE CARE OF A PATIENT?"
Zhe froze, visibly startled.
Zhe – "Y-Y-Yn, I-I-I’m so sorry! I didn’t do this, I swear! I just got here in Lao Ding’s room."
Yn – "I don’t care if you did it or not! I see you sitting here, chilling while the room looks like this. You know how much I hate messy spaces! So, your punishment is to clean this room and all the members’ rooms for a whole week."
Zhe – "Yn, that’s too much! Please don’t do this to me."
Yn – "You should have thought of that before letting the room turn into this mess."
Zhe – "Okay, fine! I’ll clean my room for a whole month, but not the others’ rooms. Please!"
Yn – "No negotiations. Either you clean all the rooms for one week, or I extend it to a month for everyone. Your choice."
Zhe – "N-No, no! One week is fine. I’ll do it."
At that moment, Jin Hyung stepped in, trying to calm the situation.
Jin – "Yn, I think we should focus on the patient first."
Yn – "Oh, right! Sorry, I got distracted. He’s over here."
I pointed toward Lao Ding, lying unconscious on the bed.
Yn – "Zhe, explain what’s going on."
Zhe – "Right, so Mr. Kim—"
Jin – "No need to be so formal. Just call me Jin Hyung, like Yn and the others do."
Zhe – "O-Okay. So, Jin Hyung, Lao Ding ate something he’s allergic to during a business meeting a few days ago. He immediately took his usual allergy tablets, but they didn’t work. We’ve tried other medicines too, but nothing has helped."
Jin – "Did he know about his allergies beforehand?"
Zhe – "Yes, he’s aware. That’s why he took his tablets right away, but they still didn’t work."
Jin – "Can you show me the prescription from the doctor you consulted?"
Yn – "Jin Hyung, the doctor I mentioned earlier, Dr. Odor, is the one who recommended you. He’s also the one who prescribed the medicines."
Jin – "Alright. I’ll administer an injection and prescribe a few medications. He should wake up by tomorrow. But I strongly suggest reminding him to avoid allergy-inducing foods completely. His health is more important than any business deal."
Zhe – "O-O-Okay, Hyung. Thank you so much."
Jin – "No problem. After all, we’re going to be family soon, and as a doctor, it’s my duty to help."
Jin – "Yn, let’s head back now."
Yn – "Hmm, let’s go."
Zhe – "Wait, I’ll come with you to the living room."
IN THE LIVING ROOM
IN THE LIVING ROOM
BTS POV except JIN
After Jin Hyung went with Yn, the boy named Stark led us into the living room as Yn had instructed. As we entered, we noticed a few new faces, all looking familiar. They seemed like people we often saw on TV—handsome, young, and definitely someone who belonged to the world of business or media.
We sat there in silence, none of us speaking, and the others in the room didn't seem to be engaging either. The atmosphere was tense, and the silence stretched on for what felt like an eternity. After about 15-20 minutes, the quiet was finally broken. We heard footsteps, and three people entered the room. Of the three, two were familiar—Yn and Jin Hyung. The third person was likely Yn's assistant, Chen Zhiyuan (Zhe).
Yn and Jin Hyung sat down near us. We were still silent, and so were the four people who had been sitting across from us. The air was getting more and more awkward, and it seemed like everyone was waiting for someone to speak. Finally, it was Zhe who tried to break the silence.
