Organizer321: Hey, folks. Heard about the rent hikes? This is getting out of hand. We can’t keep living like this. I’m organizing a protest at McGrady’s Tavern this weekend. Who’s with me?
CivicMind: Uh… that’s bold. I get it, the rent hikes are squeezing us dry, but are you sure that’s the best idea?
VirtualKing23: McGrady’s? That’s out in the open. You know the N.E.O.’s got eyes everywhere.
Organizer321: Exactly why we need to do something. We can’t keep letting them hike the rent while sitting in their towers, watching the city burn. We’ve got to show we won’t stand for this.
ConstructionJoe: Look, I hear you, but it’s risky. You know how this goes. Push too hard, and people disappear. The N.E.O. doesn’t play when it comes to protests. I’ve seen it happen.
MomOfThree: Right. I’ve got kids to think about. I can’t risk getting caught in something that brings the N.E.O. down on us. They don’t just stop protests—they make examples of people.
Organizer321: That’s why we have to rise up! If we don’t fight back, we’re just going to keep getting stepped on. Rent, crime, TK attacks—they keep us scared and divided so we won’t stand up. This is our chance to unite!
SilverHawk: I don’t know… going against the system isn’t just a loud protest—it’s dangerous.
CivicMind: It’s not about not wanting change. We’ve seen what happens when people go against the N.E.O. They don’t just stop protests; they erase them. And the people in them.
VirtualKing23: Yeah, no thanks. It’s bad enough dealing with the rent hike without having the N.E.O. breathing down my neck. I’m out.
Organizer321: So that’s it? You’re just going to sit and complain while they keep bleeding us dry? No one’s even going to try to fight back?
ConstructionJoe: It’s not fear, it’s being realistic. You go ahead, but don’t expect us to follow. We’re still looking for half of the last group that tried.
MomOfThree: We’re not cowards. We just pick our battles. Be careful, okay? Don’t get yourself in trouble.
Organizer321: Fine. I’ll go it alone if I have to. But don’t say I didn’t try when things get worse. You can’t hide from this forever.
Organizer321 has left the chat.
VirtualKing23: Yeah, that’s not going to end well.
CivicMind: Nope. You can’t just throw up signs and expect the N.E.O. to let it slide. I get that people are desperate, but we’ve seen this play out before.
ConstructionJoe: Last time, they didn’t just stop the protest—they erased it. The stories disappeared, and so did the people.
MomOfThree: I hate the rent hikes too, but I’m not risking my life on a protest. Not when the N.E.O. runs everything.
SilverHawk: Speaking of disappearances, anyone heard from SkyLiner? It’s been a couple of days since his whole VR spiral.
VirtualKing23: Nope, nothing. Still worried about him. He was pretty messed up after spending all his money on the arcade.
CivicMind: I hoped he’d pop back in, but it’s looking like he’s stuck in that VR loop. He was talking like reality didn’t matter anymore.
MomOfThree: Poor guy. Once you fall that deep, it’s hard to pull yourself out. I hope he’s not gone for good.
ConstructionJoe: I’ve seen it happen too many times. People think the VR is easier, better. But once you’re in, it’s hard to come back to reality.
SilverHawk: Let’s hope he does come back. Reality might suck, but it’s still real. We can’t let these arcades swallow people whole.
VirtualKing23: Agreed. Let’s keep an eye out for him. Maybe he’ll reach out once he cools off. I just hope he didn’t fall too far in.
MomOfThree: Fingers crossed. In the meantime, let’s stay out of trouble. Rent hikes are enough stress without the N.E.O. knocking on our doors.
CivicMind: Definitely. I’ve got enough on my plate. We’ll figure another way through this.
