Ebs sighed dreamily as he put down the strange box. The box had a large antenna on it and a blue knob on the bottom. He looked to the entrence of the cave. A storm raged outside, a flurry of snow that stopped Ebs from seeing much beyond the stoney archway of the looming cave. He shivered. Ebs jacket was warm enough, although the overwhelming loneliness was a cold of its own. Was there anything on this planet like humans? Thought Ebs. He hoped so, anything like humans. His Aimsley. Ebs remembered 002, Lihla. She said the humans weren't as good as Ebs thought they were. He thought she was a bit crazy, which was boosted by the fact everyone was frantic trying to find her... Then when they did, Ebs didn't want to think about that. He had to focus on the mission, map this planet, study its wildlife and vegetation.
Ebs woke up, although he didn't remember drifting off in the first place. He glanced outside to see no storm at all, a barren snowy waste. He picked up his bag and snuffed out the fire. Ebs stepped outside to find the snow went up to his ankles, bare paws against the powdered snow. Ebs had been shown snow before, but a whole tundra of it was new, he was excited. Ebs dragged his feet through the snow, he started to hope it would end, that he'd finds flowers or grass, or maybe something else he'd never seen before. Ebs had been walking for hours, an endless waste. This planet was further away from its star, so the days were longer, to bad for Ebs when the night lasted around seventeen hours. Snow swirled around his paws, he could barely feel them. Ebs fumbled in his bag for the box.
"Hello everyone! I've continued my expedition and am doing well! I... don't know how far I am from habitable land, but I'm a little worried- no, sorry. I'm running out of resources quicker then I thought. I, the gorgeous and might Ebs could never be worried at all. Over." He smiled and put the box away. Somthing made a sound out of the corner of his vision, A growl. "Great..." Ebs looked around before quickly digging in his bag. A loaded gun ready to fire. "I CAN HEAR YOU." He whipped his head around, and fired. There was nothing there. Ebs started running even though the cold was numbing. He ran for hours, heavy sholders and snow blinding him. constant growls and rumbling barks from behind him. He quickly turned around and took three shots, Ebs heard a whimpering sound and kept running. A whimpering beast wasn't a dead one, so he kept running. Darkness started enveloping his vision, the cold and exhaustion making Ebs' body weak. Ebs looked behind him to see the same emptiness and snow of before, the growling had stopped, the chase was over. Ebs sighed in relief, swayed, and fainted.
The fall of humanity is inevitable, yet one being may save the world. Specimen 003, codename Ebs. They have been sent to a planet similar to Earth, although what hidden things 003's creators have hidden may jeopardize the mission for the final time.
