It can be seen

And one day it possessed me 

A friend at first

One like no other

Kind and funny 

Handsome and tall

I couldn't see at first how far I'd fall

At first a simple crush

Eye candy for me too see

Then I realized he meant more to me

The laughter we shared

The games we played

The falls we'd take

Made me love him every which way

His appearance wasn't the best

But his personality was nothing like the rest

To me he was a star

That fell from the sky

I should've known than my ambitions were to high

But to reach the star I took a jump

But there I found another hump

The star saw me as a friend 

Where I saw him as a man

But the star meant to much

For me to just close the door

So I became the friend and nothing more

Even if his heart was for someone else

I wish him nothing but blessings 

Even if my heart is heavy 

Because I loved him too much to hold him back

So of course I wish him nothing but the best

Now I wait for my next star to fall

Will it be this year or never at all ?

Either way I have no regrets 

Because that man taught me what it means to love
