Upon leaving the plains, the Trio begins their search for the herd. They search high and low but there was no trace of the herd. That is when Stera found footprints on the ground. These were no ordinary footprints. These tracks belong to a Umberceratops. Stera makes a bellowing call to show Tyrannos and Leonne her findings. Tyrannos and Leonne sniff the footprints and begin to follow the scent of the Umberceratops. Tyrannos is concerned about what or who they will find since the smell is very familiar to Tyrannos. The last thing the Trio needs is for a fight with this Umberceratops to break out.

After following the scent trail, the Trio find the source of the footprints. The Trio find Toro on the ground covered in injuries. Tyrannos and Stera rush towards the old bull's side in order to help him. Toro tries to lash out at Tyrannos and Leonne but is too weak to even stand. Tyrannos and Stera lift Toro up and proceeded to escort him towards a nearby cave for shelter. Leonne observes from a distance and begins to pity the old bull. As Tyrannos and Stera enter the cave, they settle Toro down gently while Stera begins to wrap sap infused vines and leaves on Toro's wounds. Tyrannos leaves to get some nearby twigs while Stera stays beside Toro.

Meanwhile, Toro awakens back at the grasslands. Next to him is his mate, an Umberceratops with less prominent horns but very prominent quills on her tail. That is when an Umberceratops calf runs towards Toro, happy and full of energy. But this would not last as a shadowy figure consumes the calf. Toro charges towards the shadow but is horrified to see the shadow consume his mate. Soon, the shadow splits apart and surrounds Toro. Just as the shadow was about to attack, Toro wakes up and find Stera sleeping beside him. While Toro is relieved at first upon seeing Stera, his attitude shifts when he looks around and sees another familiar face.

Toro sees as Tyrannos brings a few sticks from nearby trees. Leonne ignites the sticks, creating a bonfire and spooking some nearby bats. Tyrannos lays down and gets some rest, tired from all the traveling. Feeling enraged, Toro tries to stand but is unable to even lift himself off the ground. All Leonne and Toro can do is stare each other down but they both know that they are in no condition to fight, Leonne being tired from all the walking and Toro's injuries having not fully healed. The two of them join Tyrannos and Stera and get some rest for now. Little do they know, they group is about to get some unwanted visitor.
