For three more days we walked, stopping at homes to sleep. Everyday got more exhausting with the lack of sleep and the long walks the toll began to show on everyone. Although we were getting closer to the border, the strong sense of worry I had didn't fade. By now my dad would most certainly be a wanted man by the gang. My dad broke the biggest rule and he'd pay with his life for it. Scary thoughts kept flooding my head until they were interrupted by a voice. " Stop. I'm gonna give you 1 explanation about what's gonna happen in 2 more days the border will become visible." " That will be the most dangerous par" he stopped, not finishing his sentence. His face darkened, we all looked back to see what his eyes focused on. Oh no.....
Taking a risk his father abandons the gang he was forced into 10 years ago after his brother borrowed money and ran. But now their family must flee their home and cross the border to gain the chance of survival. Otherwise they will most certainly die. Will they be able to make it across? And if they do will they be welcomed?
