“Hey…how about this one?” Archers states and continues.
“It is a one story, one bath, two beds, also has a nice easily accessible kitchen.”
Kiel looks up and nods. “Yeah that sounds alright…Um does it have a bathtub or not?” He asks softly but is very excited.
“Yeah sure does.”
Kiel smiles. “I want that one.”
“You sure? This is the one you really want? We can still look at more,” Archer asks just to make sure.
“Yeah it’s what I want,” Kiel kicks his feet softly against the couch.
Kiel and Archer had been sitting on that couch for a few hours looking for a house and job for Kiel. Archer had started looking for jobs beforehand and got hired as a delivery man for a cafe. He also applied Kiel as a cashier at the same cafe.
Kiel didn’t mind what house he got whether it was an apartment or even a small town house but Archer wanted something that was best for his situation. Archer wanted something with easy access, one story, and simple layout, just something that Kiel would live easy in. And the one Kiel said yes to was the house.
Now Kiel and Archer had jobs, and Kiel had a house to live in after his parents moved to Europe. Though he would also need a bank account and credit card to pay for needs, food, and bills. So Archer created a bank account. Finally Kiel was ready to live alone without his parents and finally work like a normal person.
“Well…,” Archer sighs as he closes his laptop. “I’ll put in an offer and maybe we can tour the hour tomorrow or something?”
“Yeah sounds good but what will we do if they don’t take our offer?” Kiel asks softly.
“We will beg on our knees till they give us the house,” Archer chuckles and sets his laptop aside before ruffling Kiel’s hair.
“So we are protesting?” Kiel says confused and tilts his head.
“Well sort of.” Archer rubs his neck and stands up.
“Anyways I’m going to find your lunch and we can eat in here, yeah?”
Kiel nods and waits patiently as Archer leaves to get lunch. Around five minutes later Archer walks back in with a tray of food containing a club sandwich and a bowl of mixed berries.
“Today’s menu is club sandwich and mixed berries,” Archer states in a very energetic and amusing tone.
He sets down the tray of food next to Kiel and hands him the sandwich.
“Ooh,” Kiel smiles and brings the sandwich up to his mouth and takes a bite the biggest one he can possibly take.
“Goopmh,” Kiel tried to say the word good but it came out wrong since his mouth was full.
“Its good, I’m assuming,” Archer chuckles and Kiel nods happily.
Kiel finishes chewing the bite that he took and sighs. “Yeah it’s took though I don’t think I should have taken a bite that big. I need time to recuperate.”
“Yeah you took a big bite, here take a drink to wash it down,” Archer chuckles and hands Kiel a bottle of Sprite.
Kiel’s hands wrap around the bottle as he unscrews the cap and it bubbles. He takes a sip, savoring the tangy flavor.
“That helps a lot.”
Kiel hands the open capped bottle to Archer and grabs the sandwich again. He takes another bite but this time smaller and at a controlled speed.
“Well you’ve improved at least you won’t choke now,” Archer mumbles.
“Yeah I guess,” Kiel shrugs as he takes another bite.
Just then Archers phone went off and he grabbed it. It was an email from the owner of the house Emily, that they just put an offer on saying:
Hello Archer and Kiel,
Thank you for your offer and matching our prices. So far we have no other offers and we would gladly like you to tour the house as soon as you can. We have also heard about Kiel from his parents and about his disability. I hope we can accommodate him with this house if no one else puts an offer in. Just email me a time and date that works best for the tour.
- Best regards Emily
“Wow that was fast,” Archer said surprised.
“What was?” Kiel stops chewing and looks up.
“I just got an email from the seller of the house saying that there isn’t any other offers and that we can tour the house as soon as possible.”
“Oh that was fast,” Kiel says just as surprised as Archer. “When do you think we should tour?”
“Well tomorrow we are free and your parents will be at work, does that sound like a good time?” Archer looks over.
“Yeah that works.”
“Then that’s it. We just have to tour the house and pray that they take our offer. You have a job and bank account so you should be set for when your parents leave. Now all I have to do is email Emily back and we should be set,” Archer sits back and opens his laptop again to reply to Emily’s email.
Hey Emily,
Thank you so much for telling us and thinking over Kiel’s situation. If it’s okay we plan to tour tomorrow at around noon if that time works for you. We also hope that no one else puts an offer in so we can get the house.
- Archer
A few minutes later Archer gets a reply.
Archer,
Yes I can fit you into my schedule. The two of you can come around 12:30 and maybe after the tour we can go over the house information; title and homestead, and pay over lunch.
-As always Emily
“Done and done,” Archer sighs and closes his laptop. “We meeting with her at the house for a tour at 12:30 and then after get lunch and talk over some housing stuff.”
Kiel was on his last bite of the sandwich when Archer said that and all he did was nod.
That night Kiel and Archer did their normal routine: dinner, bathing, brushing teeth, putting pajamas on, and then going to sleep. As Kiel and Archer lay down and fall asleep, they dream about the days to come and having new jobs and Kiel having a new home.
