I was finally almost ready when there was a knock at my door and I opened it up to Anne dressed up way too much I couldn't help but laugh. 

“This isn't funny.” 

“Have you seen yourself Anne, you look like our Aunt.” 

“Ugh just help me with some of this Ren.” 

“Fine…Have you told mom and dad yet?” 

“No I'm going to before everyone is here.” 

“Well you better do it fast.” I helped her get all the ridiculous things off her and now she looked nice. “There, now leave me alone.” 

“Sour much, let me guess you don't have a date…You don't do you Ren?” She said, looking at me smirking. 

“I don't want a date now, get out of my room.” 

“Fine, I'll get back at you for this Ren.” She leaves my room and I close and lock my door and finish getting ready. I finished getting ready but sat in my room getting lost in my thoughts of the river incident. 

I got another knock on my door and I opened it and it was my parents and Raine was leaning against the pole behind them. 

“What do you need?” My parents looked at each other for a second before they looked back at me and my mother spoke,

“Well Ren….we don't want you leaving or running off and ruining this again so Raine is gonna be with you the whole night.” I looked at Raine and he was looking at the art on the wall not paying attention then back at my parents. 

“Ren, your sister doesn't want you ruining this for her, it's quite important to her.” 

“Wait Anne did this, has she said anything yet to you guys?”

“Uhm yes Ren she told us she doesn't want you messing this up and she hasn't said anything to us”, I grabbed both of my parents and took them to find Anne. 

“I swear.” I was gonna find her, I'll get back at her for this.

“Anne, get your ass over here!” I finally found her, 

“Anne why don't you tell our parents now no one is here” 

“Oh no, you wouldn’t Ren!” 

“Yeah I would, go on and tell them!” Our parents kept looking at Anne to me confused while we were exchanging glares, 

“Tell us what Anne?” 

“Ugh I hate you Ren…Mom, dad I don't like guys…I like women.” 

My parents looked at Anne shocked but not in a bad way. They hugged her and told her it's fine and they support her, then they said I was still stuck with Raine. That wasn't a bad thing, it was just awkward now. I walked back to my room and Raine was still looking at the art and I walked by and stood on the castle steps watching the people slowly trickle in, next to Raine who was still leaning against the stone pillar. 

“Looks like we are hanging out tonight…” 

“Yep I guess so…you don't have a date do you?…”  He was looking at the floor or the walls, it was kind of adorable.

“I don't, why?” 

“It would have been weird if you did and I just followed you guys everywhere….no reason.” I finally turned to look at him and he looked at me, 

“Can we at least talk about what happened in the river Raine?” We both stared at each other for a few seconds but it felt like minutes. He finally spoke and broke the silence between us, 

“I'm still trying to figure that out….” He moved off the pillar to infront of me. 

“Neither of us know how or what to feel or react.” 

“Yeah…Anne finally confessed.” 

“That's good for her but don't try to change the subject now, Ren.” We were close again but this time not too far. We both looked at each other, 

“What do we do then, Raine?” 

“I don't know…” We were slightly closer now, he was a few inches taller than me so I had to kind of look up slightly. We both kept looking at each other in silence for a few minutes, the tension between us was slightly and certainly high. Then my parents and Anne called for me and I turned away from Raine and went to them. Raine followed behind me but at a distance. My family greeted the guests as they walked in, Raine just stood there quietly watching all the guests. Later on a few hours into the party, I was sitting at the banister on the little balcony where the stairs split watching all the people when Raine came next to me and leaned on the banister and watched as the kingdom's people danced. We both stayed in silence watching the people. 

They were having fun, and they were happy. All their problems temporarily went away, they weren't stressed about anything and it amazed me how they could just throw their problems away for the time being. I was zoned out not paying attention to anything but what was going on in my head. I snapped back to reality the moment I heard Raine’s voice speak,

”Why don't you have a date, if I may ask?”

“Oh well uhm..I didn't really want one and I don't really need one.” I partially lied, really I didn’t want to tell him, or anyone why.

“Sure….” 

“What I'm telling the truth Raine I'm not lying…” 

“Yeah i know it's some of the truth…but what about the rest of the truth Ren…” I looked at him, 

“What rest of the truth? That is the whole truth Raine.” 

“Ren, I know you enough to know that that isn't just the whole truth there's more to it.” 

"Maybe there is but I'm not telling you."

“Fine, don't tell me then.” 

“Fine then I won't tell you.” 

“Good.” 

“Yeah, good.”

  We both looked away from each other and back down to the kingdom's people, back to our silence and our own thoughts. We spent most of the night talking then going back to silence, I may have drank a few drinks they had…or more it's all a bit fuzzy and questionable. At the end when the party was done, the rest of the people that were able to function were cleaning up and the ones that couldn't really function from all the drinks were gone. I was in my room already passed out and mostly drunk from the night and the drinks…I knew I was gonna be feeling like absolute shit in the morning but I hadn't really thought about it at that time.
