"For you!” Georgio held the box far out in front of them.
Alice quickly looked over its appearance. It looked colourful and vintage. They either thrifted it or got it from Michaels. It could be either one with Georgio.
“Thanks,” she took the box, and set it beside her. “I've got your gift right here.”
Alice reached over to her bag, but Georgio stopped her.
“You gotta open up mine first,” they said.
Alice just smiled and picked up the box that was previously left by her side. There was no stress to show your apprectaion with Georgio. They always just assumed it.
The first thing she saw was a little paper saying “ALICE”, but with funky colours to add that Georgio pop to it. The bulk of the present was protected underneath it with cotton. A necklace, a little cat-shaped trinket statue, and a pin that said “Wilker Festival, 1986”. She had no idea what the Wilker Festival was, but the pin was gorgeous.
“Thank you, Georgie! Can I give you a hug?”
“That's the second half of your gift.” Georgio put their arms around Alice for a brief hug, before they pulled away.
“Okay, now I've got to give you my gift,” Alice reached into her bag. “I only hope mine can compare to yours.”
She took out an orange paper bag. Georgio took it, and they pulled out many bags of their favourite sweets.
“You're the best, Alice!” Georgio reached into the bag once more- to check if there were more treats left- but then they felt something rough that definitely wasn't edible. “What's this?”
They pulled out a pin, a very big one at that. It was made from the bottom of a soda can, and its design was made by Alice herself. A big, wavy, red heart with “NO ROMO” written on it.
“This is just what I needed!” Georgio said. “You won't believe how many people ask me out each day. It's just one of the curses that comes with being aroace, I'm too hot and irresistible!”
“Same here,” Alice said.
“The next step is getting t-shirts or something that says we're just besties.”
Just short LGBTQ+ stories i write when I feel like it. Might just be a lot of aroace stuff, but I'm just writing what I want to see. If there's something that that you think I represented poorly, just let me know and I'll fix it!
