Reincarnation 101

Is this ending anytime soon?

Is this ending anytime soon?

Feb 26, 2025

'The Princess has been acting strange, very strange.'

Wyge couldn't help but wonder at the turn of events and how her ever distinguished master is now acting like a silly girl.

'She even dyed her hair...does this mean she won't be helping me? Or does she perhaps have any other plans?'

Helping me.

With this, Wyge remembered the first time the Princess had approached her asking for her help.

Back then the Daniela had promised her that she would help Wyge rebuild her fallen family if she could serve under her.

'I accepted because she was the fastest way for me to bring back my family, but I never thought she would give up on succession...'

"What now?"

The words came in, pulling her out of her deep thoughts.

Wyge didn't notice she'd lost focus, her mind consumed by thought.

"Now," she spoke diligently, "that mana can be sensed, how about we try a simple flow. Concentrate on the energy, and try to make it move."

With a nod, Daniela closed her eyes, seeking the familiar feeling of mana.

'Where is this?'

She felt herself standing on tranquil emptiness.

Everywhere she looked was plagued by the pitch black.

There was nothing besides her, but the empty presence.

'This must be my psyche, should I feel the mana here?'

She remembered reading about this, but her thoughts wandered off at the strange phenomenon.

But gathering her thoughts back, she concentrated once again.

For a moment silence prevailed before—

Blue dust particles formed around her.

Waving her hand, she felt the strange dust gather on her palm, dissipating with time.

"If this is it..."

Holding up her palm, she tried to move the particles.

The blue dust moved and gathered around her palm, forming a small blue sphere.

Soon the energy left her palm, flowing upwards, curving slightly, making an arc before continuing up.

The process continued for some time before stopping.

Daniela gasped at construct.

"It did this on its own."

She couldn't help but cover her mouth.

The blue particles had formed an anatomy of her body, one similar to the hologram she had seen few moments ago.

But there was something else, an eight with an extra ring, a three-ringed eight, with the first circle passing from her head over to her chest, and the last circle ending at her torso.

"What's this? Wait..." it took her a second to register the foreign energy flowing within her.

"...it's cool."

She placed a hand on her chest at the cold, but she couldn't feel it at the tip of her finger.

"Ha...mana feels so strange."

The strange sensation of mana, the cold that was not freezing, and her stabilized breathing, she felt weightless.

"I can take on the world, I feel great for once!"

She yelled, but her voice muffled out in the empty void.

"Come to think of it, I'm not blinking, am I?"

She closed her eyes, and felt her warp out of the unknown place.

Fluttering her eyelids open, her red pupils came to light.

"How was the experience, Milady?"

Wyge's voice came in first followed by her face, the darkness around her eyes clearing, light seeping in.

—Huff

Taking a single deep breath, she replied "...I feel great, and I felt something strange."

"You entered your psyche, Milady. It's a mental plane where we are able to interact with our mana. Was it not a dark place?"

She inquired, curious as to her experience.

"Yes. It was dark, but there were these deep shiny dust particles around me. I felt it on my skin, but they gradually left me to form this anatomy of my body, and some strange eight like symbol."

She went on to narrate her experience, the feelings and her thoughts she had back on her psyche.

"A build has been formed, and naturally at that. Now, all that's left is to start with the basics of Arcanism."

'Why am I here?'

He thought, walking behind the two adults.

[Can I bring him along, Miss Shia?]

[Why not? After all, I must please my employee, and the new admission are already moving in]

[That's...are you planning to make me your slave? No. Putting that aside, could you help him, um, in my stead?]

[Anything for my employee]

'These two talk like kids at times, but then again I got dragged along. Things have started changing from my previous life by a lot. But that just made me think, did we ever have a professor for the Manakai class?'

No matter how deep and hard he thought, he couldn't wrap his head around it.

No.

No...

No...?

No!

'No! The girl who picked the Manakai profession suffered a lot because of that. Then, who is he and why do I have memories of having met him?'

His black gaze fell on the big man in front of him, the sounds of their conversation filling the air.

The more he thought, the more he felt it...

There was something more than him.

Him, who defied logic and returned to the past.

'Things that happened different? Well, I went to work, and he got me a free talent assessment, the Pri—The Princess!!'

It was then he realised the first difference between this current life and his past one, excluding the ones he had caused.

The Princess with black hair.

'She never gave up on successio—'

—Bump!

He crashed onto a familiar firm wall once more, this time it was the back.

Finn stumbled back at the impact.

"Ha, sorry!"

Jack withdrew fast, raising his hands in apologetically.

"Ah. It's my fault, sorry."

Finn scratched the back of his head, cursing at his own clumsiness.

He was too immersed in thought to realise they had stopped, thereby crashing into him.

"Anyways welcome to Nexarion."

Shia gestured at the grand marvel of structure beyond.

—Whoosh!

There were multiple towering structures, all holding the sense of prestige and greatness that came with the title 'Nexarion'.

The academy was not called the greatest in the continent for no mere reason.

It was in view of the fact that, the academy held powerful lecturers, a well systemised infrastructure, and branding.

Yes, brand value.

Once a student graduates from Nexarion, his or her value skyrockets.

Plenty of organisations including the magic towers, guilds, noble families, flock over trying to win the student over.

"This is indeed amazing, the building are built using the finest of materials, and these..." Jack looked over towards the rows of trees planted alongside the edges of the roads.

"...linden trees add to the great fragrant atmosphere, and mana," he waved his hand around, perceiving something invisible around him, "there is great amounts of mana in the air."

At his observation, Shia added, "actually, the mana is from the linden tree."

Jack's hazel eyes widened in realisation, "Oh! They are mutants. They emit mana at such a level?"

"Yes. With the amount of trees we have, it's only natural the atmosphere is rich in mana."

She spoke in pride, puffing up her chest.

Finn however was dazed by a series of memories, some bad, and some worse.

No matter how well he looked, he couldn't find any good ones.

What are the memories you ask?

'I got bullied? This much! Just because I'm a commoner...is this even fair, am I supposed to suffer the same fate again?'

"About the help I asked earlier..."

Jack voiced his thoughts.

"Ahh! Don't worry, my assistant will be here soon. He'll take care of it."

"Miss Shia."

A youth in his twenties came forth.

He wore a similar suit to Shia, but it was deep black.

The slit of his jacket revealed a white shirt which was held up by a red tie.

His green eyes were sharp unlike his carefree tousled hair left to dance to the wind's rhythm.

"Speak of the devil."

Shia clasped her hands together, turning to face the individual.

"You shouldn't say things like that, Miss."

The young man countered.

He then turned to face Jack, extending a hand forward, smiling, "My name is Templeton."

"Jonathan."

Jack smiled, recieving his hand in a firm shake.

"The guests are waiting for you, upstairs."

"Oh. We better get going, Mister Jonathan."

Getting behind Jack, Shia pushed him away, leaving Templeton with Finn.

"Let's go."

His eyes swept past Finn while his expression remained unreadable.

"Where?"

He asked, but he could already figure it out from the earlier conversation Jack had with Shia.

"Shopping."

He smirked at the boy.

"What do you think he's going to be like?"

The red haired woman spoke up.

The mood in the room was somewhat damp from waiting.

Not because they were simply waiting, but because they have been waiting for someone important, someone they haven't seen in some time.

"I think he's going to be the same clumsy boy."

The man spoke out.

His presence was intimidating, however when he replied to the red haired girl, his voice was rather sweet and caring.

"But people are know to change with time, dad."

She spoke again

But he simply opened his mouth with another sly grin.

"It doesn't matter, I'm sure he's pretty much the same lil' boy, maybe now he can be good enough for my daughte—"

"Dad!"

The girl screamed before he could complete his sentence.

"Hahahahaha... What's wrong with that?"

He laughed loudly, clearly teasing his daughter.

"I've seen how you looked at hi—"

"You stupid idiot!"

Despite her ill words, he paid no heed to it, but instead wrapped a hand around her, nestling her against him.

"You shouldn't hide your feelings."

He said, gentle pulling a strand off her face.

"If you do, you might come to regret it later, Hailee. Besides, he's quite the gentleman, I'd entrust you to him without hesitation."

"You idiot. Have you ever looked at us properly? I've never had any such intentions with him. He was like an older brother to me."

She pressed on him, but the man remained steady.

"Hm...and is that how you talk to your dad?"

He finally looked down at the girl, but her face held no signs of regret at having called him an idiot.

"Is that how you talk to your daughter? Huh?"

Pinching the bridge of his nose, the man sighed.

"It's all my fault, I spoiled you way too much."
