The moment Selena stepped into her room, she let out a deep breath, as if trying to steady the whirlwind of emotions inside her.
Her room was a world of its own—spacious yet cozy, filled with soft colors and delicate details. Butterflies and flowers adorned the walls, their presence timeless, just like the plush toy animals she had kept since childhood. She never had the heart to remove them; they were pieces of her past, of who she was.
She walked over to the window, resting her hands on the sill as she gazed at the night sky. The stars twinkled like tiny diamonds, and the moon—so full and bright—seemed to glow just for her.
Then, as if the universe was reading her thoughts, the song Kiss Me by Sixpence None the Richer began playing softly from her phone.
Selena’s heart skipped a beat.
She closed her eyes, letting the melody wash over her. And just like that, she was back under the big tree, lying beside Jack, their breaths intertwining, his hand brushing against her cheek, their lips so dangerously close.
Her fingers touched her lips unconsciously, a warm shiver running down her spine.
"Jack… what do you feel for me?" she whispered to herself.
The question lingered in the air, unanswered, but deep down, she already knew the truth—the truth she could no longer deny.
"I can’t hide it anymore." A soft, shaky sigh escaped her lips. "I love you."
The words felt both terrifying and exhilarating, setting her heart ablaze.
With a dreamy smile, she turned away from the window, running toward her impossibly soft bed. She threw herself onto the mattress, hugging her pillow tightly, burying her face into it with a happy squeal.
"I can’t wait to see you tomorrow, Jack."
And as the song played on, Selena drifted into sleep, her dreams filled with the boy who had completely stolen her heart.
