Jack stood frozen, his heart pounding as he watched Selena.
Tears shimmered in her eyes, threatening to spill. Her lips parted, but for a moment, no sound came—only deep, shaky breaths as if she was struggling to hold herself together.
Then, the soft melody of Born for You filled the air.
🎶 "Too many billion people… running around the planet…" 🎶
Selena let out a broken laugh, wiping at her tears.
"Jack…" Her voice cracked.
She shook her head, unable to believe how blind she had been.
"I tried so hard to ignore it, to convince myself that what I felt for you was just… just friendship. But it’s not. It never was."
Jack took a step closer, his hands aching to wipe away her tears, but he waited.
He needed to hear her say it.
Selena clutched her chest as if trying to steady her racing heart.
🎶 "Tell me what is this sweet sensation? It's a miracle that's happened…" 🎶
"When I’m with you, Jack… the world makes sense. I don’t have to pretend, I don’t have to hide. It’s like… like I was born to love you."
Jack inhaled sharply, his chest tightening.
Selena’s voice wavered, her tears now flowing freely.
🎶 "That I was born for you… It was written in the stars…" 🎶
"I was born for you, Jack," she whispered, voice raw with emotion.
Jack let out a shaky breath, his own eyes glistening.
"Selena—"
But she wasn’t finished.
She reached for his hands, gripping them as if they were her anchor.
"No matter how much I tried to deny it, no matter how many times I told myself it was impossible… it’s you. It’s always been you."
🎶 "What we have, the world could never understand… or ever take away…" 🎶
Jack cupped her face gently, his thumb catching a stray tear.
"Then don’t run from it anymore," he murmured.
Selena let out a soft sob, then, finally—
"I love you, Jack."
The words left her lips like a prayer, like something she had been waiting her entire life to say.
Jack exhaled sharply, his forehead resting against hers, his own eyes now brimming with unshed tears.
🎶 "And ‘til the day I die… I bless the day that I was born for you." 🎶
And then, in the most tender, aching moment—Jack pulled her into his arms, holding her as if he would never let go.
