“Room Seven One Seven?” I asked.
Grandfather remained silent after reading the second note.
“What’s Room Seven One Seven?” I asked to Grandfather.
Something wasn’t right. Grandfather knows something about Room Seven One Seven.
“It’s nothing,” Grandfather said, You could see his mind full of thoughts.
“Grandfather. Please tell me what room Seven One Seven is” I said.
“Room. Seven One Seven.” My Grandfather murmured.
“Yes, what is that place?” I asked.
“I can’t believe it” Grandfather said.
“What is it?” I asked again.
“I can’t believe it{“ Grandfather said and suddenly tears flowed from his eyes.
“What’s wrong, Grandfather?” I asked.
“I’m sorry you have to see your Abuelo like this. You see” He said, wiping his tears.
“This place was important for your Abuelo. It was a holiday home. Spain has been important for the Rodriguez family. We had properties everywhere, either we bought it or it was from Family.A Apartment room Seven One Seven in Granada was the first property I bought from my business in America. It’s also where every summer, Me, your Grandmother, your Madre, and Aunt used to go as a familia. Away from all those empresas capitalistas. I can’t believe she remembered” My Grandfather explained, while being emotional.
“Abuelo.” I said.
The moment I said that, My Grandfather moved next to me and hugged me and started to cry. Me on the edge of the sofa in my Wheelchair getting hugged from the sofa.
“Mi amada nieta, Gracias por llamarme tu abuelo.” My Grandfather said and hugged me tightly.
“I’m the happiest abuelo in the world,” My Grandfather said.
“There, there Grandfather. I’m also happy now solving these riddles with you.” I said, to calm down my Abuelo.
My Grandfather then released me from his tight hug, and got out a napkin where he wiped his tears.
“So we need to go to room Seven One Seven?” My Grandfather asked.
“I think so,” I said.
“When do we leave for Madrid?” My Grandfather asked.
“Slow down now. If I leave I need to get approval from my Legal Guardians. I can’t fly internationally without approval. I’m still a Minor.” I explained.
“Who are you Legal Guardians?” My Grandfather asked.
“Mr and Mrs. Victor” I answered.
“Then let’s ask them for this. What is it? “Approval” My Grandfather said.
“Mrs. Victor won’t let me go. I’ve asked her before” I said.
“Of course she didn’t allow you. Because you were going alone. With your Abuelo by your side. That is different” My Grandfather said.
“No. Mrs. Victor said I have to graduate from University first” I explained.
“From a scale for una to diez, How serious is she about that commitment” Grandfather asked.
“Ciento!” I said. Serious about it.
“Ay ya yai. This is serious. Well, nothing like a little money can’t fix.” My Grandfather said.
He then placed one foot on the table, as if he’s hiking and pointed his finger upwards.
“Someone bring me three months worth of clothes. Prepare the Jeeps. I’m going on a edventure to Spain!” My Grandfather declared with that pose.
“What?” I asked.
“If you’re going to Spain. You have to go with me. Or else I won’t help you convince you “Legal Guardians” to give you the approval” My Grandfather said.
“Can’t we just smuggle inside? Cross illegally?” I asked.
“My days of smuggling and illegal crossing are long behind me. I’m a changed man.” My Grandfather said.
“I guess I have no other options” I murmured.
After waiting a few hours in the living room. Seeing my Abuelo showing off his destreza moves, Everything was ready. A maid whispered in my Abuelo’s ear, Everything was ready.
“Nieta. Let’s go, " Abuelo said. Excited.
A man wheeled me, We stayed behind my Abuelo as we slowly moved to the front doors. Outside three Range Rovars awaited us. My Abuelo climbed down the stairs, while I slowly got wheeled down on the ramp on the edge of the stairs.
My Grandfather got inside of the front Range Rovars, sitting on the Front passenger seat. I got inside on the back right seat. Behind the driver. The fleet started to move. As we move in sync all of the memories from the times I was in Heuston started to come back. Memories when I was in my old home in Kansas, and my new home with Victoria’s family. How much I’ve suffered and joy.
I’ve come a long way. But this is just the end of the beginning,
