I will make the male lead choose me!

Chapter 9

Chapter 9

Mar 20, 2025

“Anita, have you been practicing all this time?” her Father said. Anastasia simply nodded, but both of her parents were bewildered. The original Anastasia must have been a terrible dancer.

She couldn’t possibly have known, and it really frustrated her that her character felt like just a small footnote.

“How was your dance with Guillermo? He is a gifted merchant; don’t worry; he knows your scar. Please don’t feel like you are hiding something from him because of the mask,” her Father said.

“You told him?” she asked her Father.

“You may not remember, but he was the one that found you in the docks - unconscious. He is a thoughtful man who has improved over time. You should dance with him again if you’re given the opportunity,” her Father said.

She suddenly felt uneasy, and her mother stared directly ahead of her.

The second gentleman, Caballero Lunar, with a mole on the right side of his face, greeted her and whisked her away to the center of the ballroom.

He was tall, with red hair and blue eyes. He wore his military uniform. Although stiff, he danced gracefully.

“I’m glad you made an excellent recovery, Señorita De La Guerra,” he said. She thanked him, and they conversed about a few topics before their dance ended.

Anastasia found her parents, and her mother looked alarmed.

“Anita, you and your mother will head back home. I need to help Duke Esmeralda with something urgent,” her Father said.

They slowly left the party, and she sat with her mother in the carriage on opposite ends of the carriage.  The carriage ride was silent until her mother stood up and hugged her.

“You’re back to normal. I thought we lost you back then!” her mother said through her sobs. She held her mother until she fell asleep.

What on Earth could have happened to the original Anastasia?
