First Lesson and Awakening of Memories
During my first lesson, I learned and expanded my knowledge tremendously. This world had long been governed by nations, science, technology, and politicians, and it remained so until the hero Terafinn fell. It was then that humanity began to recognize threats not only from within but also from the surrounding celestial bodies. Nations abandoned their prejudices, limitations, and racial divisions to make a unified decision for all of humanity. This led to the formation of a global society governed by the twelve leaders of the Human Alliance. After thousands of years, humanity had finally unified. Compared to the other planets out there, we, as the native race of Earth, should have done this long ago.
The rest of the lesson contained information that Syx had already provided me. The teacher mentioned that tomorrow, after the opening ceremony, the school would conduct a Spirit Form Index assessment for students. Participation was optional, but the teacher encouraged everyone to check their potential and determine their future path.
I thought I didn’t need to participate since I had Syx. But before I could feel too relaxed, Rachel suddenly wrapped her arms around my shoulders from behind and cheerfully said,
"You're coming with me for the test tomorrow, right?"
It wasn’t because of Rachel’s expectant gaze or her incredibly adorable expression that I couldn’t refuse. I was just… curious. Yes, just curious! Smiling at her, I responded,
"Yes, I'll go!"
That evening at the dinner table, Uncle Den asked,
"How was your first day at school? Learned anything new?"
I answered,
"It was fun! There’s so much knowledge that makes this world feel even more fascinating."
As the family gathered and shared laughter, I felt a warmth I had almost forgotten.
Returning to my attic room, thoughts flooded my mind without warning—this world, the distant planets, mythical beings, and the existence of Syx. Then, there was the final destination of death: Akashic. Some races focused on cultivation, while others devoured their own kind to evolve.
Could there be a planet where the supreme Spirit Form was achieved solely through consuming their own species? And if so… could I do the same? I had no restrictions on absorbing the Spirit Forms of any species out there. But could I allow myself to become such a being?
I had the potential to reach the Supreme Spirit Form of this microcosm, perhaps even beyond the universe itself. But who was I? What was my purpose?
A face suddenly appeared in my mind—a small, adorable face with bright, round eyes and shoulder-length hair swaying in the wind. Her cheeks were always flushed, and she carried a mischievous smile as she softly called my name. Then, an old man with a perpetually contemplative expression, his eyes filled with sorrow, looking at me—but I was never really there. That gaze seemed so distant. I never asked, but I understood—behind those eyes were stories too profound for a thirteen-year-old like me to comprehend.
And then, there was Uncle Den's kindness.
They flashed through my mind like reminders—I was no longer alone, no longer a child wrapped in a tattered blanket, crying in a wasteland unfit for human survival. I… had a family now.
"Error detected in Sandoc's Spirit Form. A segment of code has been restricted by Akashic. Analyzing… Completed! Sandoc’s Spirit Form has passed through Akashic four times. In human terms, Sandoc has lived four previous lives on Earth. Due to Sandoc's emotions and self-awareness, the natural decoding process would take four years. Do you wish to unlock it immediately?"
Shocked, I asked,
"What is it?"
"The memories of Sandoc’s past lives. Not all of them, but those that were deeply etched into your soul due to significant events—those filled with the greatest pain, happiness, despair, or rage. Based on human emotional analysis, the memories embedded in your soul consist only of pain and despair from all four of your past lives. Do you want me to decode them now?"
Pain and despair, huh… I hesitated.
My emotions and self-awareness had already begun unlocking these soul memories. Normally, no ordinary person could access such memories. I had only cultivated eleven branches of the Superior Spirit Form and gained the sensitivity attribute, yet it had already accelerated the unlocking process, shortening the natural duration from seven years.
But I had Syx. Sooner or later, I would have to face this.
"Yes, Syx. Unlock them now, please."
"Decoding… 1%... 13%... 24%... 36%... 43%... 57%... 64%... 72%... 80%... 91%... 99%... Complete! Beginning memory integration!"
Suddenly, waves of painful memories surged into my consciousness. My mind overloaded with information. My eyes began glowing with an intense blue light, and blood trickled from my ears, nose, and mouth. The pain was unbearable. Holding my head, I struggled, but everything turned black.
I had lost consciousness.
Sandoc has undergone an Awareness Awakening!
