Louise waited until they got back home to call Jimmy’s number – After a big fight with his dad, Jimmy Jr. decided to stay with his mom more often. Only visiting his father on the weekends, unlike his younger brothers. - Louise called and waited for him to pick up, it was nearing the third ring when he answered,
“Hello?”
“Hey Jimmy, it's Louise. Who was the main person throwing parties in the woods?”
“I don’t know, I was always Zeck’s plus one and he heard about it from someone else. Some say there wasn’t even a party planner! The legend that never existed. Those parties were awesome, too bad Tina never saw, I was going to ask her to be my girlfriend at the last one before graduation.”
“Okay. So do you know someone who might know someone who knew the guy or whoever throwing those parties?”
“I’d ask Lenny Destephano.”
“Oh my god, why wasn’t he the first person I thought of? Thanks Jimmy, also Tina’s dating someone else so tough luck.” She quickly hangs up before texting Jessica and Millie.
Text Chain P.O.V
Louise- S.O.S meet at clubhouse!
Jessica- coming.
Millie- got it.
Millie- No Rudy?
Louise- Just go to the bunker.
Millie- ok, jeez.
End of Text Chain.
The night started to creep in, but this was an emergency. Louise brought her flashlight – after so many horror movies she knew better than to have only one source of lighting. -
“Where do you think you’re going?” Linda abruptly asked. Louise shook a bit from the sudden questioning,
“I’m going to meet with Jessica and Millie. We need to talk about how to get Rudy to stay – it’s your idea being put into action.”
“Uh huh, well, don’t be too late.” her arms folded, still sceptical but not wanting to shoot down her own idea, she let it slide.
“I can go?” She was surprised, expecting her to disapprove.
“Hurry back and be safe.”
“I knew you were cool.” She praised, leaving with a backpack full of plans and safety measures.
Meanwhile at Rudy’s dad’s house.
“Dad, I don’t really think I want to move in with mom. I’d miss my freinds and high school would be a nightmare without Louise. I almost didn’t make it through middle school; so many classes.” he shivered.
“Well, Ruds. I just hope that whatever you choose makes you 100% happy, I want you to be really sure.” His father tried to reassure.
“Yeah. Guess I’ll go to bed now.”
“Don’t forget pancake.” he joked knowing Rudy hasn’t slept with pancake in ages. He only wanted to jog his memories of living with his dad in an attempts to get him to stay, he loves his son and doesn’t really want to let him go but he knows that if he outright says he wants him to stay, Rudy would. It needs to be his choice, it wouldn’t be fair to him.
Back at the bunker the girls huddled around a clue board with the possible names of the legendary party planner.
“So, in the morning I’ll get in touch with Lenny but until then I've got all four of Tina's year books and I’ve flipped through and circled all the people who show up the most.” The cut out faces were of two girls and a guy all of whom were the same age as Tina yet was never in any of the Wagstaff middle or elementary yearbooks. The mystery only grew.
