The orb started making noise, specifically noise of people conversing. It’s unintelligible, but it’s clear to Blue what exactly the sound is. He often tries to calm it down by playing music on the radio.
He sways around in his room gracefully, accidentally knocking over objects while doing so. When the music doesn’t work in calming the orb, Blue talks to it directly.
“Hey, calm down. I’m here.” Blue kneels in front of his desk and speaks in the softest voice he can manage. “I won’t hurt you; I’m just trying to make you even bigger.”
“I’m like your mother, no?” He chuckles. “I gave birth to you, I feed you, I’m raising you to be the best version of yourself...”
But no matter what, the orb won’t seem to stop chattering in different voices. Blue sighs, starting to become a little frustrated by the constant noise.
“Please, can you quiet down just a little? Your caretaker here is trying to get a bit of rest.” When the orb still doesn’t stop, Blue feels his anger rising by the second, and eventually, he snaps and slams his hands down on both sides of the orb. The slam echoes throughout the room as Blue raises his voice, “Please, for once, could you shut up?!”
The orb immediately stops talking.
Blue is visibly relieved and calms down. “Thank you. Now could I get some sleep for tonight? I haven’t been able to get a wink of sleep because I’ve been caring for your needs.”
The orb stays silent.
“Thank you,” Blue says quietly, carefully touching the orb and caressing it. He picks up a book from the desk and exits the workroom for the night.
To make something so out of this world, is it possible? Would you be able to produce something that impacted not only the world you live in, but the space that surrounds it? To come up with an idea so extreme, to even think about an idea so extreme, to try and execute and idea so extreme...
