Chapter Seven – I’m Harboring… a Fugitive?!

“I need details. Lots of details,” Vince began, eyeing him over the table.

The new place his bestie wanted them to try out for lunch was cozy and hip. It definitely had good vibes, and Danny couldn’t help thinking that Ryder would like it a lot. There were no offensive artificial smells to bother a man from the country used to the scent of real pines. Where had that idea come from? It was just the way he imagined the place where Ryder lived.

“Oh, damn, you have such a dreamy look in your eyes that you’re scaring me,” Vince commented, pulling Danny back to earth until he had both feet planted firmly on the ground. “What’s going on?”

“Nothing. Nothing’s going on,” Danny hurried to say. How could he explain to his best friend that his mind ran away from him whenever he thought of the handsome man he had housed under his roof through a trick of fate?

“Okay, keep it under control right now, but what happened? The guy slept with you.”

“Yes, like in the most literal sense of the word,” Danny explained. “I made up the sofa for him, but then I found him sleeping on the floor.”

“It figures,” Vince said, nodding at his own wisdom. “I told you he wouldn’t be sleeping on that couch. It’s too small. Then, in your generosity, you offered your bed. Then, being the polite country man he is, he refused energetically and stubbornly while you did the same. Because your argument and competition to show who has the best upbringing continued and developed into something more, you both ended upon the floor. There. I helped you with the story till here, now take over, and don’t disappoint me.” He wagged a playful finger at Danny.

“And what a story you just told. It was nothing like that. He agreed to sleep in the bed with me right away.”

“Direct, knows what he wants… Hmm, I’m starting to like this guy more and more. When should I start shopping for a best man suit?”

“That’s not going to happen,” Danny protested. “I mean, he is direct, he does know what he wants, but that’s the issue. Because I don’t! I mean, I act like I don’t because--”

Vince touched his forearm. “Hey, man, breathe, it’s okay. You got smacked in the face by fate when you met this guy. But he sounds swell, and you don’t have to obsess so much over everything.”

That was why Vince was such a great friend. He knew exactly when to intervene to stop Danny from spiraling down into the ocean of uncertainty, drowning in doubt.

“Thanks,” he said and sipped from his drink. “I did want things to happen once we were in bed together, but because I told him it would be the normal sort of sleeping, not the other kind, he didn’t do anything to me.” Another sip from his soda helped some.

Vince grinned. “Okay, that actually scores him points. He gave you a great deal of respect.”

Danny eyed his friend suspiciously. “Are you sure you don’t think he was too respectful? He slept with his cock pressed against the small of my back and his nose in my neck.”

Vince shook his head. “That must have been torture. And he must be a monster because he’s obviously capable of restraining himself while being wrapped around you which, boy, says something.” He let out an exhalation, noisily enough to show what he meant.

“I appreciate how much you want to flatter me, but I can’t help thinking that I am definitely not irresistible.”

“That might be true, and I always want to flatter you because you always need the boost of confidence, but I’m starting to think you could get more than just a little action in the hay out of this deal, Danny boy. Now, onto more practical matters. You said that his cock was pressed against your back. Was it hard?”

Danny nodded slowly. Vince was the most logical person in the world when it came to sex. So, he was counting on the advice he could get from his bestie.

“Rock hard or was it only a semi?”

Danny stole a quick look around, but the booths in this new place were far enough apart to avoid having conversations being overheard from one table to another. “I’d say it was pretty solid.”

“On the diamond scale, diamond hard?” Vince joked.

Danny rolled his eyes for show. “Come on, I may have only slept with two guys in my whole life, but I know a hard cock when I feel one poking into me.”

“Good, good, I just wanted to make sure.”
