He and I play alot around the house and one time when we were playing hide and seek I almost saw his face but couldn't , I wonder why he never takes off his mask and googles .

"Shekrit , Vanessa , C'mon we need to leave before it turns mid-day"

"Okay~ , Let's go Shekrit" he seems a lot more energetic than the day he arrived

"Okay"

We both went downstairs and prepare to leave . 

"I wonder what we will hunt today", asked Vanessa "Maybe a gaint spider with ten thousand eyes" I replied in hopes of scaring him "Eek , don't say stuff like that it's gross" 

He fell for it .

"Why do you get so scared , so easily?" I asked with a small giggle

"Girls don't like stuff like that",

"Girls?" I questioned

"I- I mean-",

"Let's go we are geting late" dad interrupted right in the middle ,

Suddenly he pulled my arm and dragged us outside "You heard him let's go"

"O- Okay calm down a bit"

It was a peaceful morning and we were about to set off for a job in the community guild for some money .

After walking for two hours we finally made it but there was no job in the guild for some reason .

"What do you mean there's no job left", dad asked in shock

"So- Sorry Sir but for some reason a group of masked men just came in and took all the jobs left", explained the guild lady .

"Sh- Should we go back", Vanessa asked 

*Sighs* "We can't , we don't have enough money to even buy ourselves food", dad said shocking us ,

"Didn't we get a lot of money for the job we did the other day", I asked trying to ask him for his pocket .

"I- I kind of used all of it for our renovation" with a simple pull he showed us the empty wallet having only a fly come out , needless to say both me and Vanessa were left speechless .

"I- If you're that much in need of money you could go to the community built-in board , though people rarely use it now-a-days", the guild lady suggested bringing hope in our eyes ,

"Okay , I ain't letting my kids go hungry today", dad jumped all excited .

"You should start to think about the future more in the future"

We head to the community built-in board as the guild lady indicated , inside a dark alley .

"Why is it in such a cramped place?"

After reaching the built-in board we saw a single job request for a spider killing quest . 

"Looks like I was... right?", I said hesitantly looking over to Vanessa ,

I Vanessa starting to shiver "Lo- Look at what you did"

"Wha- How was I the one who did that", I asked trying to block Vanessa's punches .

"Calm down you two , the job doesn't seem to have been placed too long ago and guess what-" dad's voice seemed to get more joyous ,

"Hmm?"

"Huh?"

"-It says the reward is a gold coin , that'll be enough to last us a whole year", he jumped full of joy .

"I don't wanna go", said Vanessa in a shaking voice as if he was about to cry .

"Don't worry , I'll protect you", I said giving him a thumbs up with a smile ,

"Don't give me that thumbs up!" he seemed to be pretty angry about the thing I said today morning .

"Now now , Don't fight , you'll be fine and if needs be you two can just stay behind me" dad comforted while leading the way out ,

"O- Okay"

After some time we reached the cave where the spider was said to be residing , according to the job paper .

"Okay here it is"

"It looks scary"

"Don't worry didn't I say I will protect you" my attempts of trying to comfort him only ended with an angry 'hmph'

As we were heading inside dad suddenly disappeared . 

"Wh- What just happened?!", I asked in surprise

When I turned to Vanessa I saw that he had already fainted and soon I lost consciousness as well .

After some time I woke up due to the calling of Vanessa "Shekrit , Shekrit wake up , didn't you say you will protect me why are you the one that's sleeping"

"Huh~ , I wanna sleep a little more" for a second I had forgotten the situation I was in but that didn't last long as Vanessa banged his head against mine finally waking me up "Ouch!"

"Finally" he exhalted and after looking around we seemed to have been tied up next to each other at what seemed to be the back of some carriage .

"Where are we and why are we tied up", I asked caressing the bump in his head

"I don't know , I think we're getting kidnapped , I heard someone saying 'we got them' up front"

"Where is dad when we need him"

"I think they are the ones who took him away" he seemed to have a good understanding of the situation .

Suddenly the carriage stoped and we hear "We need to do this quick if we want to save her" right at the door of the carriage with a figure's silhouette .

As the figure was about to open the carriage my body jumped and banged my head against the figures' knocking him down "What the heck was that" the figure screamed but all I could think about was the ever-so increasing pain in my bump .

"Vanessa let's run" with a tear in my eye we slowly started to run .

Vanessa quickly came out so we had gotten quite far .

"Come and catch those two! We can't let them escape",  the black masked figure shouted .

We kept on running but Vanessa got his foot caught in a tree root and fell down "Vanessa!", I shouted only to see ten black masked men running towards us 'Huh , How are there so many of them' I thought as despair came over me .

"Run away Shekrit!! Just leave me behind", his voice sounded desperate but I could only think about carrying him ,

"What? I can't do that" and with no hesitation I carried Vanessa and started run as fast as I could .

"I'm just slowing you down", he exclaimed grabing me tightly ,

"No worries I doubt that they can catch us if they can't even run faster than me" I seemed to be faster than them because for some reason my body was extremely good and I mean extremely good .

As I was running as fast as I could an arrow suddenly came piercing through my arm . 

"Ahhhhh! That hurt! Who shoots an arrow at a kid!!!", I screamed in agony bearly being able to carry Vanessa ,

"Shekrit!!"

"Catch them now!", the men didn't seem to give up .

As I was about to keep on running the arrow that was stuck inside my arm suddenly turned into a blade cutting it off ,

"Ahhhhh!", I screame droping Vanessa down and when I looked up I saw that the men had already gathered around us .

"Sh- Shekrit , are you okay?!", Vanessa asked in full panic mode , while I couldn't stop screaming from the pain . Then one of the men came and knocked us out .
