he storm outside raged on, wind howling through the trees as Jack burst through the grand doors of Mr. Razel’s estate. His coat soaked, fists clenched, and rage burning in his eyes.
Mr. Razel looked up from his notebook, surprised but not unprepared. “Jack? What happened to you?”
Jack slammed his fist down on the table. “Who is Ronald Nish?”
Razel’s expression changed—calm replaced with something darker. He stood slowly, closing his notebook with deliberate care. “Where did you hear that name?”
Jack growled, “The man I fought. He said Ronald Nish is his boss. He’s behind Selena’s kidnapping, isn’t he?!”
Mr. Razel sighed and walked toward the fireplace, his face lit by flickering flames. “Ronald Nish... I never thought I’d hear that name again. He’s not just dangerous, Jack. He’s the kind of man who doesn’t exist on paper anymore. Erased himself from the system years ago.”
Jack stepped closer. “But you know him.”
Mr. Razel turned. “Yes. He was once Mr. Robinson’s partner. They built an empire together—tech, information, defense systems—but Ronald wanted more. He was obsessed with control. When Robinson refused to hand over their latest project, Ronald disappeared... and people started vanishing.”
Jack’s eyes widened, heart pounding. “And now he’s back for it... and for Selena.”
Mr. Razel nodded slowly. “He knows Selena is the key. She’s the only one who can decode the project’s final lock.”
Jack clenched his jaw. “Then I’m going after him. I don’t care who he is or how deep he hides. No more games.”
Mr. Razel placed a hand on Jack’s shoulder. “Then we’ll need more than just strength. We’ll need allies, Jack. I can get you names. But promise me something…”
Jack narrowed his eyes.
Mr. Razel said, “Don’t lose yourself in the dark chasing monsters.”
Jack turned toward the door, eyes glowing with resolve. “I already stepped into the dark the moment they took her. I’m not leaving without her.”
