Paisley. It always makes me think of the cheesy formica countertops in my parent's kitchen, circa: 1960s. Little brown boomerangs on a blue background. I figured out that if you take a rubber band and turn it inside out, it mimics those little boomerang shapes. (It didn't take much to amuse me at that age. Speaking of amusing me at that age, don't ever take apart a Baby Ben wind up alarm clock. That main spring isn't going back in...)
Follow the misadventures of Larry, his cheerfully alcoholic girlfriend Edison, and Anya, the children's librarian who loves them both, as they try to make a romantic triangle work with the help of Stephanie, the adorable robot, and Toivo, Larry's gay Neanderthal best friend. And the unknown creature Robespierre, who is cute.
It's funny, it's smart, it's in black and white, and it stars people who are in their late 30's.
