Hathen and Rockin
An hour ago, Hathen, a leprechaun no bigger than Rockin's thumb, twitched his nose, the scent of damp earth and something ancient tickling his nostrils. He’d been chasing a particularly plump bumblebee near the old, disused well on Farmer Giles’ property when he tumbled into a tangle of ivy. Rockin, a centaur whose powerful legs usually carried him across the farm with effortless grace, was quick to follow, his concern for the tiny leprechaun outweighing his own annoyance at the muddy splatter on his flank. It was Rockin who hauled out the surprisingly heavy, leather-bound book from the well's murky depths. Its cover, though waterlogged, depicted a rather gruesome scene: a mermaid impaled on a trident.
Curiosity overriding caution, they carefully opened the book. The brittle pages, despite the water damage, revealed elegant script detailing the "Noble Art of Mermaid Acquisition" by one C.G. Beaverton. Hathen, surprisingly literate for a leprechaun, began to read aloud. Beaverton's account chronicled not only the hunting of mermaids but their subsequent "taming" – a process that involved elaborate rituals and seemingly cruel methods to break their spirits. The book spoke of mermaids as valuable prizes, their scales used for ornamentation, their voices, according to Beaverton, capable of influencing tides and bringing immense wealth to their captors. Rockin, initially intrigued, felt a growing unease as the descriptions became increasingly brutal. He’d always admired the grace of the creatures he sometimes glimpsed in the river – their songs echoing softly on moonlit nights.
Hathen, having finished the last page, shivered, a reaction unusual for a creature known for its mischievous nature. The book depicted a world where magic and greed intertwined, twisting something beautiful into a horrific commodity. The pair decided then and there to hide the book away, its secrets buried once more beneath the earth. They wouldn't destroy it – the historical value was undeniable – but they certainly wouldn’t let Beaverton’s horrifying methods inspire anyone else. The well, previously an unremarkable feature of the farm, now held a dark secret, a testament to humanity's capacity for both cruelty and the preservation of forgotten, terrifying truths. After a long thirty minutes of reading, they head back to the Grindertown Supernatural Police Department in New York, as an investigation on mermaid disappearance from each ocean’s world wonders had question Oxin for an investigation, which keys to the point that there is a world of ghost heisting, possessing, and hauntings across the world, leading to have masses of murders, deaths, and suicides which has not caused by themselves.
“We should go back in time. But what year would that be?” Hathen asked.
“1887. Mermaids were mainstreamed until the hunting occurred. However, there is a masseuse with mermaids for their beauty and invasion on decreasing fish population and crisis underwater. We have to kill all of them. But how many?” Uvital said.
Gorham sends a photo to Oxin that these are the mermaids that need to be killed, according to his predictions to the future.
“Seven mermaids. But I have a feeling there is an eighth one but that is around Dola’s timeline, 2012. But only Crisker can handle this,” said Gorham.
“We have to go back in time because there are warriors from another world that are killing mermaids in 1887. Should we protect them?” He included where a vision of the antenna douchebags coming out of nowhere and scattering all mermaids and sending the ghost their world for a recreation of new warriors fighting and protecting this dysfunctional world with giants, aliens, and monsters that look like P. Diddy.
“We have to go back in time. We need them to stop this bullshit, they are mythical creatures like us. There are seven ocean wonders and seven of us.” Oxin ordered.

“The Grindertown Supernatural Police Department takes care of the supernaturals who revoke crime and possessions. Established in 1920, the reason for Grindertown in 1920 was the year of supernatural creatures bringing themselves and causing the troubles of humans. Oxin, the alien owns the Grindertown Supernatural Police Department after he left the Grindertown Police Department due to not having a supernatural police department around this year.” Gorham explained to Crisker, his sister who is under investigation on their behalf on a mysterious murder case where they are involved in a child massacre since 1918. To show the perpetrators, Gorham hands the notes to Crisker with their headshots and information on each species.
Hathen: The brawler and leprechaun of the group. A very short dark orange-haired man with a short beard. Born as a leprechaun in
Ireland but got his memory lost by a scientist, Hathen fights like a true hero and yells very loudly. He is short-tempered and has to should anytime he sees trouble.
Rockin: The brains and centaur in the group. A tall, handsome man, with luscious. Used to be a centaur from Greece but had his horse body removed for creature hunting by an unknown hunter, he is a calm and passionate guy who likes to read books and wear warm suits Also, he likes the words: "My brain is like a library”.
Oxin: The boss and alien of the Grindertown Supernatural Police Department. He is a buff, black-haired, and tall man who smokes a little bit of his favorite Cuban cigarettes and has a tough voice to make himself the real boss. He acts up like a captain of some army because he used to be a captain in a war around 1917. He is also an alien from the planet Nebulalime.
Uvital: The doctor and merman of the group. He is here to do surgery on the creature inside humans or others to save their lives. He is a certified doctor but Oxin needs a doctor just in case some victim got in a bloody situation. He acts up like some stuttering and a whiny fool but also he was a good buddy of Oxin back in the War of 1917. He was the doctor and gunman of the war. He also has a pet baby chimpanzee.
Gorham: The spy and doll of the group. Sometimes they have a mission of tracking monsters or humans who use unnatural things. Gorham can spy around the culprit. His appearance as a black-haired, black-clothed, and red and green eyes on each side makes him some kind of criminal, but he is not a criminal. Also, he is just a monster inside a man-made doll. Gorham can change into his monster form (which is his true form), The Thorn Monster, and wander around the night to encounter enemies and friends. As the Thorn Monster encounters a being who is a mistreated fool, he kills it if the soul of the mistreated fool does not listen to its second chance. And when the treated fool was here, the Thron Monster did not kill it. When he makes his doll turn into a statue, the monster exits from the doll. He is a quiet and calm living doll who likes to respect anyone.
Elid: The mind reader of the group. She is a transgender who used to be a man who later changed into a woman. Her appearance with a handsome male voice, light brown hair that is a man's hairstyle, and a woman's body type with a C cup size of her chest. She can read off to other people or creatures' heads to tell whether they are lying or not by skimming through their memories. She is a kind and motherly-like figure as she went on to help others. Her favorite words are: I'm a human lie detector, not some cheating fool”.
Carmine: The photographer and the drawer of the group. Carmine has blond spiky hair purple eyes and eyeliner around Carmine's eyes. Carmine has a small muscular body and a sweet child-like British voice whose personality is charming and kind. Carmine can do facial composite when some victim tells the description of the suspect.
Symon: The writer of the group. He wrote the events on the Grindertown press and wrote his books based on the events everyone had done so far. Symon can be useless sometimes, but he is also an exorcist. He was a trained one and always held a bible just in case some demon was willing to possess a person. His awkward personality and talking make him some folk Hathen would get annoyed. He is a human but knows about the supernatural and never really likes being a human and knows the whole world of mythical creatures from the start as an elderly man.
“I mean this is about then going back in time and stopping these strange but strong group of weirdos from killing them for their reincarnation of strength and willpower,” said Crisker.
Gorham shook his head and agreed that this was just a week's mission to see if the mermaids were alive or not.
