Welcome to the very first "Apparent Secrets Extras" Sketch Gallery! Please enjoy a few pages of early character sketches, expression tests, and an extra bonus teaser image for an upcoming Side Story!

I have a ton of sketches for Byxx lyin' around, but these are, by far, my favorites. We have every version of Byxx here, from his grumpy days with long hair, to after he started clipping his ceres (horns) low for... reasons... Sketches of Byxx without the scar over his left eye pre-date his arrival on Earth, where a certain angry Paxoram gave him that nasty gash. 

Might be kinda hard to see, but he does have his earrings in, and that chunk taken out of his left ear. Poor guy's been through it, let me tell you. I love drawing Byxx, especially when he gets to act cute around a certain someone...

So many sketches of Khazmine! Her design evolved a bit over time, but the early days still feature her trademark aloofness and sass. 

We even have a few doodles of "Kat-Mine." I often think of the roommates as animals when they're together; Khazmine the mischievous old cat, Byxx the loveable puppy, and Zayzann is an inquisitive bird. I wonder what animal Iris might be? 

Some images are labeled as "pre-forging," which refers to her days before undergoing a Conversion by the Makers. 

Ah, Zayzann; I just love drawing his smiling face. The Paxoram is probably one of the more challenging to draw (mostly because of his feathers and details). 

His split-ears tense and move much like a cat's do, and are drawn back when he's sad or angry. Tensing the muscles between his eyebrows raises his ridge of cranial feathers up, especially when he's upset, in pain, or yawning. 

The two sketches on the lower left are my go-to references for drawing him now.

Shoutout to ApocDream for their request to see Khazmine in Iris's borrowed bikini! The Augment isn't terribly fond of sand, so she opted to wear her boots and a sheer sarong to the beach to prevent any from getting into her chassis. Despite her grumbling about it, Khazmine enjoyed watching Iris and Zayne go swimming, while Byxx and Curtis got to play in the sand. 

And finally, Miss Iris Alcazar herself; all dressed up and ready to attend a very special event, which you can read about in next week's upload. It's a multi-part Side Story for our Tapas Inksgiving Top Donor prize winner: ApocDream! 

They have requested a grand day(date?) out for Iris, and we'll get to see how it goes next upload. The story is a three-parter, with each part dropping on the same day. Also, the last one will be flagged with a little red "M," so I'll summarize in the chapter description for anyone needing to skip out on spicy content.

Iris's dress is a vision in dusty rose, and matches a certain special someone's attire... Stay tuned to find out more!
