As Ryo entered the main base of Squad 8, he was taken aback, in front of him stretched a vast hall of marble columns, each column had a inscription of it's own. Ryo thought up a possibility that it had something to do with the past, maybe Resistance's past or maybe the past of Squad 8 members.
The floor beneath him was scratched, rugged. This made Ryo puzzled. He wondered about the reason for the hall's floor having a completely different state than the pillars which supported the open roof. As he was continuing to walk towards the door which laid in front of him a voice came from behind making Ryo involuntarily flinch.
"Welcome to Squad 8, you are Ryo correct?" As Ryo turned around he noticed a man with his pure white hair tied up, into a pony tail. wearing a pair of khakis and a shirt. His brown eyes stared at Ryo, devoid of any ill nature. However, maybe they were simply concealing it. His nose was slightly towards the smaller side and his mouth remained static. Showing a faint smile of interest, awaiting a reply. Ryo seemed to have come to a realisation that this person was someone from Squad 8 and so he lowered his head slightly as he spoke.
"Ah yes, t-that's me."
The man in front of Ryo flashed a warm smile and began to introduce himself, "Nice to meet you, I'm Raphael."
'Raphael? Ah, if I recall he is the only person in the entire squad who has a Genesis capable of healing people. What an odd thing though, almost every squad has at least more than 3 healers. Although if I recall correctly he was known as uh... what was it? Right, The GreatSavior Of Resistance . If I recall the reason for it was because he was able to heal up almost 200 soldiers in a span of 2 minutes. I guess it's fine then I suppose.'
Noticing Ryo's expression Raphael drew an conclusion of is own, "Hmm. It looks like you need to get used to this environment. Hm?"
He seemed to have been thinking that Ryo was puzzled and deep in his thoughts because he was unfamiliar to the place. Ryo realised this and thought about he should reply.
Ryo flashed a forced smile and commented on Raphael's remark, "Ah sorry about that." Raphael stepped to the side raising his left hand pointing towards the door gesturing at Ryo to go in.
"Come on, let's go and meet the other members."
"Yes."
Ryo followed Raphael quietly, there was a calming silence which loomed in the room. Ryo felt conflicted, the affects of the previous night lingered and bothered him.
'Let me guess everyone in this squad are also probably like those people, why're they fighting? Fame? Money? Entertainment? Maybe I'll ask them sometime. I don't expect a satisfactory answer though.' Ryo occasionally lifted his head and stared at the sky with a distant gaze then jogged to catch up to Raphael.
Finally after some time Raphael came to a stop in front of a door.
clack.
Raphael turned around after he opened the door and began to introduce everyone to Ryo. "Let me introduce you to them, Ryo."
Raphael walked up towards a man around the height of 5'6 wearing a tight t-shirt highlighting his toned body, his hair parted towards one side which made Ryo think that he had quite a 'unique' hair style. However it wasn't as though that was the only thing which appeared 'unique' to Ryo. His white eyes, brimming with life, were something Ryo had never seen in his life, they had a certain pull to them.
Raphael opened his mouth and spoke the man's name. "This is Yoru."
Yoru waved his hand at Ryo and greeted him in a casual manner, "Yo."
Ryo awkwardly bowed to Yoru before his gaze went back to Raphael once again as he walked towards a tall lady around somewhere around six feet tall. She wore a oversized full sleeved top which hid her body's features, her hair was tied into a long pony which highlighted her bare neck. Her green eyes were slightly shaky, most likely out of awkwardness. Ryo remarked that the woman had what could be called an 'eye-candy' face.
Raphael introduced the woman, "This is Haori."
Haori bowed at a forty-five degree angle and quietly greeted herself, "Um... Hello." Ryo too greeted Haori by bowing to her and flashing an awkward and forced smile.
As they both had finished exchanging greetings Raphael moved towards the final person present in the room.
A short man, around the height of five-feet-six. His body was rather buffed up and well defined, something which Ryo was impressed to see. The man wore a all-black shirt underneath a navy blue trench coat, giving him a sense of royalty.
Raphael spoke up as he came to a stop standing next the man he was about to introduce, "And finally this is Xianye."
Xianye flashed a 'professional' smile and greeted, "Nice to meet you, Ryo."
As Ryo focused his gaze on Xianye, examining him, he was caught offguard by something entirely different, Xianye's eyes. Normally Ryo had always seen eyes which had a certain charm to them however Xianye's eyes were deep, dark and sharp but strangely Xianye did not feel to be 'dead' inside either. They were seemingly the exact opposite of Yoru's eyes.
Another remark Ryo had made was that everyone's lips except Raphael's were cracked. Maybe from a lack of water or from constantly biting them.
Ryo snapped out of his thoughts and spoke to Xianye, "Ah, yes. N-nice to meet you, u-uh..."
"Xianye. You can refer to me as just Xianye."
"U-understood, Xianye."
A moment of awkward silence fell in the room as everyone began wondering about what they should talk about. The first one to speak was Yoru.
"Hey what's your Impulse? I heard you got yours already! That's sick! It's an extremely rare case that someone unlocks their Impulse before getting into a Squad or the Army in general after the protection laws."
'What? I- I don't understand? Do- Did they not recieve my data file? But if I recall every squad recieves the selected candidate's file and test result, if they didn't have that then how the hell did they even pick me? This does- ' As Ryo was trying to draw conclusions he noticed a faint smile appear on Raphael's face. Ryo understood what it meant and spoke, replying to Yoru.
"It's called Molecular Perception."
Yoru was caught off guard by Ryo's answer, he examined Ryo for while seeming to draw his own theories and conclusions before he spoke up once again, "That's... pretty good. Extremely good. Have you received train- "
His sentence was cut off by Xianye who glared at Yoru for a brief moment before talking to Ryo. "Ryo, you should go with Haori for now so she can give you a little tour of this place. Alright?"
Ryo let out his answer in a quiet voice while his eyes went back and forth staring at Yoru, Xianye and Haori, "Alright."
