Seconds felt like hours as I waited for the response to my video. I leaned back in my chair, each breath weighed down by doubt. Maybe I was overreacting. Maybe things wouldn't unfold the way I imagined.
But when my phone buzzed, I knew something was different.
I looked at the screen, heart pounding. A notification popped up. It wasn’t just a comment. It wasn’t a compliment from a friend. It was a direct message — short, polite, and somehow nerve-wracking.
Han Seojun: Hi, Kyrah. I’m Han. I saw your work and thought it was amazing. I'd like to talk more about it with you, if you're open to it.
I frowned. It had to be one of those auto messages. Or maybe just someone trying to take advantage of a random talent online. But something about the way he wrote felt… genuine. I sat there, staring at the screen, unsure how to respond. It was too strange to be real, right?
Still, curiosity won.
Me: Hi, Han! Thank you so much! I’m glad you liked my work. What would you like to talk about?
He took a while to reply, but that only made me more curious. I wanted to keep the conversation going.
Han Seojun: I work in the makeup industry and saw real potential in your talent. I think you could go far. I like your style, and I thought it’d be great to connect. Nothing serious right now, just talking and exchanging ideas.
His words were friendly and simple. He didn’t seem like someone trying to sell a dream. We talked about makeup, the videos I posted, trends he found interesting. He never mentioned any job offers or made any empty promises.
As the days passed, the messages became more frequent. More personal. It started feeling like we were truly getting to know each other. He shared tips, gave me advice on how to improve, and even commented on other artists’ videos.
I felt comfortable talking to him. Honestly, he was far more pleasant than most people I’d met online.

“Is that her?” the woman across from me asked, arms crossed as she stared at my laptop screen.
“Yes, Director. Kyrah Aylin. Brazilian, self-taught, completely off the radar,” I said, trying to sound neutral — but there was a quiet excitement in my voice.
We were in one of the meeting rooms at Galaxy Label. As usual, discreet. No big reveals. I liked to keep things low-key.
Director Hyejin, one of the minds behind the creative division, leaned in to study the video of Kyrah applying makeup. Her resources were limited, but her precision and style were unmatched.
“She’s got an eye for aesthetics. Rare for someone with no formal training,” she muttered. “Have you contacted her?”
“Only through messages. I haven’t told her where I work. I want to see how far she goes on her own. If she shows courage, focus... instinct — then I’ll bring her in for real.”
The director gave me a slight smile.
“You’re betting on her?”
“Completely. But I don’t want to scare her. She needs to trust the process before she can trust me.”
“All right. Keep watching her, Han. When the time’s right, we’ll know.”
I nodded, eyes back on the screen. Deep down, I felt it — Kyrah wasn’t just another online talent. She was a spark ready to set everything on fire.

Something shifted two days later. His tone started changing. He didn’t just talk about makeup or content anymore — he mentioned vague things like “big opportunities” and “life-changing moments.” But then he’d go silent for hours, sometimes the whole day, which only fed my anxiety.
Then, on the third day, he sent a message that caught me completely off guard.
Han Seojun: Kyrah, I talked to some people about you. I think it’d be good if we met in person — maybe to discuss big opportunities. But first, you should know this isn’t something simple. It takes courage and trust. When the time comes, you’ll understand.
I was stunned. What was he talking about? Big opportunities? Why all this emphasis on courage?
I almost replied asking what he meant, but he left me hanging. I spent hours trying to figure out his words. What did he want from me? Why all the mystery?
That night, I barely slept. Doubts took over. I couldn’t stop thinking about his messages. What was this “big opportunity”? Why was he asking for courage?
Han Seojun
I stared at my phone, hesitating before typing the next message.
Yes, I was being mysterious. But I had to be. The Galaxy Label recruitment team always pushed to be upfront with new talents — it was standard. But most of them got scared away. Kyrah was different. She wasn’t chasing fame — she was authentic. And that’s rare.
I sighed, sitting in the waiting room of the studio where Ryu Yunji was recording a demo with Song Jiwon. ARX was the company’s heart. If Kyrah ever entered this world... she had to be ready.

The next morning came with a mix of anxiety and doubt. I didn’t know what to think. Maybe it was all a joke. Maybe he was just testing me.
Then, by late afternoon, the message came. He was ready to take the next step.
Han Seojun: I don’t enjoy keeping secrets, but timing is everything. I want you to really think about this, Kyrah. When you’re ready to know what’s behind all of this, let me know.
I could feel something coming. A turning point. But fear clung to me. Was I ready for this? Or was it just another illusion?
And that... was only the beginning.
