I left without hesitation. Ben was really frustrated. 

"I got you here. Can't you just swallow your pride and talk nicely?"

Jack said coldly, "It's none of your business. Don't call her again, even if I die."

Ben was helpless. 

"There won't be a future if you keep this up! If you really want to win her back, why are you being so stubborn? I've always wondered why you're so calm in other situations but act like a child around Lily."

Jack turned his head towards the window and didn't say a word.

 He didn't know either. He wanted to talk to me nicely and apologize, but when he saw me, he just felt so wronged. 

Even though he knew he was in the wrong, he still couldn't help feeling that way, as if I should just forgive him unconditionally.

Jack was very panicked. Ever since he saw me at the airport, he had been in a state of chaos. 

He wanted to do something, but at the same time, he felt hopeless because he thought I would never forgive him.

Having an affair with Sarah was a big mistake. After making the mistake, he tried to cover it up. 

When Ben pointed out the truth, he got angry and said some harsh things. He regretted it right away and warned Ben not to tell me what he said, or they wouldn't be friends anymore. 

He was even afraid to face me because he felt so ashamed.

Jack knew it was right for our relationship to end, but he was still scared. 

Sarah came to see him several times, crying and saying I was bullying her. 

"I got a court summons to return the money you gave me. It was your money. Why does she want it back? Jack, are you just going to let her treat me like this?"

Jack thought it was quite ridiculous. I've always been someone who doesn't forget a grudge.

 If Sarah hadn't accused me, I might not have thought about getting the money back. As I said before, if I really wanted to get back at her, I could have got her expelled from school.

Sarah still wanted to be with Jack. She thought since Jack was getting divorced, she could take my place. 

But she didn't understand that Jack could be with anyone but her. She was a reminder of his messy past. She was a stain on his life, and no one would want to keep a stain around.

Sarah had spent all the money and couldn't return it.

 Jack paid it back for her. He told her not to come to him again, or he'd ask for the money back. Sarah left angrily. Before leaving, she slapped him and called him a hypocrite. Jack just took it.

After being discharged from the hospital, Jack threw himself into work to numb the pain. 

When it was time to get the divorce certificate, he didn't hesitate and followed me to the civil affairs bureau.

I was in a good mood, still confident and energetic. Jack watched me leave. Suddenly, I turned around. "Jack, apologize to me."

Jack's hand in his pocket was shaking. He opened his mouth but couldn't say the words. 

I was a bit disappointed and started to walk away.

Jack stepped forward quickly. "Lily... I'm sorry."

My steps paused. I waved my hand and walked away briskly. 

This time, my back seemed to be much lighter!
