“But why? You were just protecting me and Vinod.”

Agilan:

“That doesn’t matter. All they see is the damage I caused.”

[He sighs, looking at the ground.]

Agilan:

“College was the only place where I felt… normal. Now I have to go back to that empty house.”

[Vinod places a hand on Agilan’s shoulder.]

Vinod:

“Not alone. I’m staying with you for these three months. No arguments.”

Agilan (half-smiling):

“Thanks, Vinod. You don’t have to—”

Vinod (interrupting):

“Of course I have to! Who else will keep you from mutating into some flesh monster?”

[Shalini looks at them, conflicted. Vinod turns to her.]

Vinod:

“Shalini, you should stay with us too.”

Shalini (blushing):

“What? No! That’s… that’s not proper.”

Vinod:

“Come on, Agilan needs us. Plus, you’re a better cook than me.”

[Shalini shakes her head, still blushing, but doesn’t respond.]

[Vinod and Agilan arrive at Agilan’s home. The place is cluttered, with books, papers, and dishes scattered around.]

Vinod:

“Dude, this place is a disaster. Were you living in here or surviving?”

Agilan (shrugging):

“I wasn’t expecting guests.”

[Vinod notices a framed certificate on the wall. He picks it up and reads it aloud.]

Vinod:

“‘First Prize Winner: Agilan Shaktivel.’ Hey, is this your full name? Sounds fancy.”

Agilan (smiling faintly):

“Yeah, my dad’s proud of that name. Says it has power.”

Vinod (laughing):

“Well, I’m calling you Mr. Shaktivel from now on!”

[Agilan and Vinod wake up, both visibly hungry. Vinod groans.]

Agilan:

“Nope. And no money either.”

Shalini (softly):

“I… thought you might need this.”

Agilan:

“Thanks, Shalini.”

[She nods and steps inside. The three sit down, eating together.]

Agilan (smiling faintly):

Agilan (thinking):

“Devil's Castle? Shadow Witch blood? Demon flesh? Asmodeus? This… this could save my dad.”

Shalini:

“What does it say?”

[Agilan hesitates, then explains everything—the recipe, the system, and its potential to cure his father’s cancer.]

Vinod:

“So, you need to fight demons and collect all this stuff?”

Shalini (determined):

“That’s dangerous, but we’ll help you. No matter what.”

[Agilan looks at them, surprised but grateful. He nods, a newfound determination in his eyes.]
