Max hadn't left his room since dinner, the pain and grief of his mother's death draining all his strength, he remembered their conversation in the morning and tears welled up again

He fell asleep, there was a gentle knock on the door "Max, you're going to school" Max recognized David's voice through the door

Tired and with red eyes from crying, he hadn't even taken off his clothes because he fell asleep yesterday, he went downstairs David was already downstairs he was sitting at the table on the table was there two plates

Max slid down on the chair across from David, there was a fried egg and toast with jam on the plates he looked around and started spiking "Liam doesn't normally eat human food, so he probably won't come down while we're eating"

David looked at Max who nodded "okay" replied Max and took a bite of the mirror egg, feeling something puff on his neck, he shook his head to push the thought away, when he felt a kiss on his neck he turned his head and almost fell off the chair.

Liam's river blue eyes looked at him "you smell so good" Liam leaned into his neck and bit Max's neck, but unlike the other times he didn't bite Max's skin, Max held back a moan

Liam let go a red mark had formed on Max's neck, Max looked at Liam and suddenly it was as if all the anger he had felt exploded inside him "what the hell are you doing  you, you...you insane vampire!" Max shouted as he pulled away from Liam and the table

Liam looked at him with cold eyes "I'm marking you so other vampires don't get any ideas" Max looked at him anger bubbling in him but he didn't know what to say finally he said "other vampires?"

Liam wrinkled his nose "yes other vampires, you smelled like another vampire yesterday" he said irritate, "Max sit down and eat your food, Liam why don't you get up and put your uniform on" said David

Liam snorted turning around and left, Max walked over to the chair again and slowly started eating his food, he went to his neck where Liam had bitten, he sighed "maybe I can cover it with some makeup?" he thought

He took his mobile out of his pocket and went into the camera he turned his head to see the mark better, it was red and reminded a bit of a suction mark, he nuzzled his neck "let it get worse" Liam's voice echoed through the house,

Max turned around and saw Liam coming down the stairs wearing his police uniform, Liam sweated down the last three steps all the way to Max, he grabbed Max's wrist and lifted his arm away from his neck "you don't even have to think about covering it" he said

And then with eyes that sent chills down Max's spine, only when Max nodded did he let go of Max's wrist, Max clenched his sore wrist "should we go?" asked Max he had lost his appetite and just wanted to get away from Liam if that meant he had to go back to the school where Jacob was

David nodded and stood up, they went outside Max looked surprised at the black Volvo standing in the driveway instead of the police car they had come in the day before "in" said Liam and pointed to the car Max wanted to say something but let be and got into the car

like yesterday Liam sat in the passenger seat and David in the driver's seat they drove in silence when the car stopped and Max was about to open the door Liam quickly turned around and grabbed Max's shoulder

"Don't even think about running away, we'll pick you up after school, come out here" Liam's words were so cold they threatened to freeze Max to ice, Mac nodded and Liam let go he jumped out of the car and with quick dirt went to the door

For the first time Max sighed happily and relieved to get to school, but the joy was short lived as a familiar voice echoed in the hallway "MAX YOUR SHIT!" the sound of Jacob's voice was terrifying and sent chills down Max's spine, but after yesterday Max felt that Jacob was a little mure just like himself

Jacob grabbed him by the arm and spun him around "where the hell were you yesterday you little pig you still haven't told me what you took swimming" Max didn't look at him but just looked down at the ground "hey!" Jacob shook Max, finally when Max still didn't go he shouted "stop ignoring me you little idiot" as he pushed Max hard into the wall, the back of Max's head hit the edges of the wall

"AGH!" Max collapsed on the floor "you crazy person" Max replied back, the anger Max had flown yesterday for Liam was now transferred to the anger at Jacob and everything he had done throughout the year Max jumped up and punched Jacob right on the cheek "your dog!" Jacob shouted and before long both boys were at each other's heads

Jacob pushed Max down to the floor, Max grabbed Jacob's blouse and together they fell to the floor now both boys were rolling around on the floor, fists flying through the air as well as kicking legs and swearing, other students had to pull themselves up to the wall and jump to the side because of the two fighting boys

"STOP!" shouted Daniel Max's math teacher, he tried to separate Max and Jacob another teacher came to help and grabbed Jacob, Daniel grabbed Max by grabbing his arms "Max calm down, what's going on?" 

He  stop at the sight of the blood coming from the back of  Max head "Mette take Jacob up to the office, I'll take Max to the emergency room" Mette didn't ask, the blood on the floor show everything she need to know.

Daniel picked up Max's school bag on the way out to the packing area "here, sit in the back seat" Daniel said and sat in the driver's seat, Max just nodded and sat in, the trip to the hospital was in silence Daniel didn't ask what was going on happened and Max didn't want to tell

"well!" exclaimed a nurse when he saw Max with blood down his back Daniel had taken his jacket that had been put in his car and pressed it against the back of Max's head, the blood had almost stopped flowing but Daniel still didn't let go of Max's head

Max felt the now familiar dizziness from blood loss "can we sit down" he asked softly with the nurse and Daniel's help Max sat on a chair still with Daniel's jacket pressed against the wound

"How did that happen?" asked the nurse after he had stopped bleeding "he had come up to fight with another boy, when I came they were on the floor" sighed Daniel the nurse looked at Daniel and then at Max

"the other boy?" he asked while examining Max for other wounds "he had one wound but not serious enough for him to go to the emergency room" answered Daniel the nurse's gaze stopped at Max's neck "what have you done?" he asked, gently touching plasters

Max pulled to the side and placed a protective hand over the plaster that caused the two small holes: "That, it's nothing, I..." Max thought of an excuse that would fit "I have a cat at home and its claws got hit me pretty good" he said quickly as he cursed heartily at his poor excuse.

The nurse looked suspiciously at Max, Max looked at the nurse inside he chose to focus on Daniel,

Daniel sighed "Max can you remember your mother's number, I'll have to call her" Max's face darkened "my, my mother" he said, he felt the tears welling up "yes your mother" confirmed Daniel,

"My mother is on holiday, I'm staying with my mother's....friends" calling David and Liam his mother's friends was completely wrong after what they had done to her "so what is the number of your mother's friends?" Daniel looked a little annoyed

"hmm, I think it's in my backpack" Max prayed that Liam or David had been smart enough to put a seal with their number in his bag

He started looking through his bag, Max spotted a small yellow seal, he picked it up and exhaled lightly "here it is" he said the number out loud, Daniel put his phone on listen "yes

it's David you're talking to" it sounded from the other end, Max was completely surprised by how happy he was to hear David's voice through the phone

"yes hi, it's Daniel Max's math teacher, Max got into a fight and had to go to the emergency room" there was a bit of silence "which hospital?" Max recognized Liam's voice "Rigshospitalet" said Daniel confused as to why the voice had changed. There was a beep, beep from the phone both Max and Daniel looked at the phone with surprised eyes "who was the other voice?" Daniel asked

"Liam" replied Max he couldn't believe he had heard Liam's voice asking which hospital, "didn't he just think I'm he waiter and...food"

After a quarter of an hour Liam came through the door followed by David, David's eyes looked worried at Max as opposed to Liam who looked at him angrily, Liam's eyes looked at him furiously when he spotted the dried blood on Max's blouse,

Liam nodded briefly at Daniel then he walked all the way to Max, Max looked down at the floor still with his hand on the plaster "how are you?" Max was surprised by Liam's question, he quickly answered "fine"

Liam looked at him "stop lying" he touched the bangda around Max's head, David came over to them he squatted in front of Max "I was talking to Daniel, why were you up fighting?"

"Yes, why was I" Max asked himself

"I don't know...he wouldn't let me be and I was already angry" Max looked into David's light brown eyes as he spoke "can Max go home without any problems?" Liam asked the nurse nodded and David helped Max up, 

With David's hand around Max they went out to the car, Max looked at the police car with a cold look Daniel had gone out with them looked at the car with wide eyes, he looked at Liam and David, Max doesn't understand why he was so surprised they had uniforms on

"Sorry for taking up your time" Daniel sounded far too surprised if you thought that he had spoken to David, whereupon it is written in big bold writing across his chest police "it's okay" Max looked up at David who smiled

"Get in the car Max we're going home" Liam said without a fight Max climbed into the back seat of the car "you can't see they've kidnapped me and killed my mother" Max thought as he looked out the window they got in

Max could hear a phone ring "yes hi, Max and David came up and got into a fight at school he was badly injured and has to go home, maybe a concussion" lied Liam "can we take today off so we can keep an eye on him "

There was an answer on the other end of the phone "thank you" Liam said nobody he hung up "we'll go over and hand over the car and then home" he said David nodded and Max remained silent he still had nothing to say

When they arrived at the police station they drove into a gate they stopped at a couple of other police cars David opened the door for Max with a firm grip on Max's wrist they left "sorry Max" David said Max looked up at him

"Why?" instead of answering Max's question he said "be careful when we get back, Liam is not in a good mood" whispered David they got into the black Volvo, the trip home was in silence.

They got out of the car Liam grabbed Max's arm and pulled him to the door David followed after Liam waited for "stayed. Her. out" he snarled, opened the door pushed Max and went along himself to then slam it in David's face

He lifted Max into the same room Max was locked in yesterday,Max was so focused that he hadn't noticed that there was an electrical outlet next to the door on the inside, Liam closed the door and turned on the lights.
