The Plight of the Twelve Olympians

Wild

Wild

Jun 07, 2025

Father! What have you done?
My sisters, my mares, they're all gone!
The moon has spoken to me, Father.
It is Moonlight that led the clouds you gathered!

Brother! Do you not think I sense your judgment?
You and I came from the same womb, is that not apparent?
Yet I cannot fathom: It is your sun that shines upon their days
And yet it is your warmth that you took out of their embrace.

Here you are, conspiring with the Council
Harming the Children of your Sun by your greedy espousal!
Brethren! You do not understand this new generation of mortals!
This plight only proved them faultless: faithless are the immortals!

My Brethren, it is our hubris that will spell our doom. We, immortals, have lost this round.

Oo, interesting! Is this poem from the perspective of Artemis? Or someone in the Greek pantheon like her?

These lowly creatures have made this world their own. They act as if they own it, as if they no longer need us.

Well.

We shall see how far they can make it on their own. They do not need us? Then we shall make their lives a tiny—just teeny, tiny—bit harder.
