After leaving the tournament, Lucian offers to repair Valkyrie back at the workshop. Ava assures him that she has tools back at her ship, even implying that this isn’t the first time Ava had to repair a busted wing. Her ship is called the Garuda. Upon arriving at the ship, Lucian and Fenrir wonder how Ava was able to fit Valkyrie into the ship. That is until they stepped inside and realize that the Garuda is much bigger that at first glance.
“Holy crap! You actually travel in this thing?” Asks Lucian, still trying process the scale of Ava’s ship.
“Of course! How else is girl supposed to take her mech into battle?” Ava says.
As Valkyrie is docked for repairs, Ava can’t help but wonder how Fenrir was able to transform mid fight. Knowing that Lucian is Fenrir’s driver, she decides to ask Lucian about Fenrir’s new ability.
“So, I’ve been meaning to ask. How did you manage to pull that off? The whole mech changing its armor mid fight I mean?” Asks Ava, pointing out Fenrir’s current appearance compared to his appearance during the fight.
“To be honest, I have no clue. All I saw was the screen say knight form and activated it.” Says Lucian, still uncertain himself about the form change.
Upon inspecting the damage to Valkyries wing joint, Lucian offers to repair Valkyrie as an apology for the sudden surprise at the Tournament. Ava accepts the offer and shows him where the tools are. Ava then enters the driver’s seat and turns on the Garuda before setting course for their next destination, Avion the Avian home world. The Garuda takes off and flies into orbit away from Lupus. Lucian and Fenrir can’t help but take in the sight of the Planet from space. As Lucian resumes the repairs on Valkyrie, Ava enters the coordinates towards the next Tournament.
A few hours later, Lucian finishes the remaining repairs on Valkyrie and Fenrir. He proceeds to puts the tools away before going to check on Ava. As he does so, Ava surprises Lucian by showing up behind him. Ava takes a good look at Valkyrie and appreciates the effort Lucian had put into the repairs.
“Not bad. I’m surprised your able to patch up a mech down to the minor details.” Says Ava, still observing the repairs Lucian made to Valkyrie.
“Well, I did work at a workshop. After a while, you begin to understand mechs inside and out. By the way, how did you managed to drive Valkyrie so fluently?” Asks Lucian.
“I used to serve in the Republic space force. At some point, piloting starfighters just didn’t do it for me so I resigned and became a mech driver. Luckily, flying an air mech is similar to flying a starfighter.” Says Ava.
“Okay then. Now for my next question. Who’s driving the Garuda?” Lucian says, noticing that no one is driving the Garuda.
“I set it on autopilot. Our next tournament is many hours away so we might as well get some rest beforehand.” Ava says, yawning immediately after.
Lucian and Ava leave the docking bay to get some rest. Ava sleeps in her room while Lucian sleeps in the guest room. As they rest, the Garuda continues its trek towards Avion. Back in the docking bay, Fenrir sleeps beside Valkyrie. Just then, Valkyrie begins to twitch and move on her own. Valkyrie then opens her eyes and begins to process her surroundings. Only a single thought crosses her mind.
“Who am I?” Asks Valkyrie.
