It was just another normal day in Class 2-B, until the teacher spoke those words that always got everyone's attention.

 “Everyone, please welcome our new student. This is Aki Nakamura.”

Aki stood at the front, his eyes low, hair covering one side of his face. His posture was stiff, almost defensive.

> “Say something,” the teacher nudged.

> “...Nice to meet you,” Aki whispered.

No one heard him clearly. Except Ren, who sat by the window.

> He didn’t even raise his voice... Ren thought, watching Aki walk slowly to the only empty seat—next to him.

After class…

> “Hey, I’m Ren,” he said casually.

Aki glanced but didn’t respond.

> “You’re not very talkative, huh?”

“...Not really,” Aki finally replied, looking down.

> Why do I feel like I’ve seen him before? Ren wondered.

Later that day, Ren passed the music room. The door was slightly open.

He heard it—a piano melody. Soft, sad, beautiful.

> Who’s playing...?

He peeked inside—and froze.

It was Aki. Eyes closed, lost in music, fingers moving like water.

> “You can play...?” Ren whispered, almost to himself.

Aki stopped playing. He hadn’t noticed Ren watching.

> “Don’t tell anyone,” Aki said, his voice suddenly cold.

“Why?”

“I don’t want them to know.”

“But… it was amazing.”

Aki didn’t answer. He stood up and walked away.

From that moment, Ren couldn’t stop thinking about Aki.

The boy who barely spoke… but played like his heart was screaming.
