P13: “Yao” is one of Xinyi's most crucial allies. He played a pivotal role in his meteoric rise through the Kurosawa Royal Family, and continues to assist him to this day. He was also the one who communicated with Xinyi through Corneille in Chapter 2 and divulged critical information about Heap.
What does he get out of this? Makoto is co-lead of one of Os's most powerful organizations, so if "Yao" has his ear, he effectively has influence over a third of Thread. He may be one of the more pacifistic villains, preferring manipulation over violence, but he's still dangerous.
P.S. God of Poison is actually the id / sobriquet of the Serpent Const, Yaoshe Baiqiao, whose name "Yao" adopted. Whether "Yao" himself would be worthy of an id would depend on how powerful he is without Yaoshe.
P14: With Yao being his (maybe evil) mentor, is Makoto / Xinyi destined for a life of villainy? Only time will tell…
P15: In Ch. 3, “Yao” said that it is possible to reincarnate as a god. In this context, reincarnating as god means being born with the potential to wield a sentient Const, aka. becoming a Primitive.
Gods in this story are not a species in the scientific sense. Any sentient being - including ghosts, animals, demons, and yes, even Nils - can become a Primitive. The only condition is being chosen by a sentient Const.
As for the sentient Consts themselves, they're immortal and aren't part of the cycle of reincarnation. They are impossible to kill - and killing their wielders doesn't permanently get rid of them.
As for how ghosts and demons are born (or made), that’ll be explained later.
P16: The Ardientes didn’t want anyone to undermine their rule. They wanted their people to be dependent on them, even after they no longer deserved to be the protectors of 404. That's part of why the Sandbox is in such a desperate situation - a crisis of this level would be difficult to replicate in Process, where there are high concentrations of powerful Instance users.
