“The towering iron gates of Mirelyn stood like teeth in the darkness, glowing faintly with arcane symbols. The fortress city, once a lively center of trade and nobility, now served a darker purpose — a haven for slavery under House Evress.
Satori narrowed her eyes.
“So this is the city ruled by Duchess Samantha…”
Athena, beside her, concealed her ears beneath a hood. “Looks more like a prison than a city.”
“We’ll need to hide everything — our magic, our identities, even our scent,” Satori said.
She crouched, whispering a spell.
The two half-demon corpses beside them dissolved into ash.
“There. No evidence. Now… we sneak in.”
“But how?” Athena frowned. “There’s a magical barrier around the entire city. We can’t fly. Can’t teleport. Even concealment spells might trigger the alarms.”
Satori looked toward the ground.
“Then we dig.”
🎬 Scene 2: Tunneling In
With a flick of her wrist, Satori cast an earthen drill. The ground opened slowly, forming a tight, hidden tunnel — just enough for two.
“Follow me,” she whispered.
They crawled for nearly half an hour. Dirt clung to their hands and hair. At last, Athena raised a hand.
“Wait… I hear water. A sewer line?”
They shifted left, following the faint trickle.
Eventually, they emerged in a shadowy alley beneath the outer walls.
Satori peeked through a crack in the stone. Her heart clenched.
Slaves. Hundreds of them. Chained. Beaten. Some worked mines. Others were sold in public squares.
“Disgusting,” she hissed.
A voice behind them shouted, “Hey! Who goes there!?”
Two guards rounded the corner.
Athena froze.
Satori didn’t.
She waved her hand. “Sleep.”
Both men collapsed instantly.
Satori caught one before he hit the ground.
“We’ll erase their memory. Hide their bodies. No one will notice.”
They dragged them behind crates. Then Satori climbed up through a hatch.
🎬 Scene 3: Chaos Ignites
What they saw made Athena's blood boil.
Men auctioned like cattle. Women in chains, barely clothed. Children huddled behind rusted bars.
Satori’s fists clenched.
“No one deserves this. Not even here.”
She whispered a light spell — silent but powerful. Chains broke. Locks snapped open.
The first slave to escape shouted, “I’m free!” and bolted.
Others followed.
The square descended into chaos.
Guards panicked. Alarms rang. Arrows flew.
Satori and Athena melted into the shadows, watching the explosion of fury unfold.
Then Satori saw him — a small boy, still standing in his cell.
“Why aren’t you running?” she asked gently.
The boy stared at her.
“You caused this, didn’t you?”
Satori didn’t flinch.
“Maybe. Maybe not. But you’re free now.”
The boy looked down. “What’s the point of running? I’ll just be caught again.”
Satori reached out and took his hand.
“Then come with me. I’ll show you your life is worth something.”
🎬 Scene 4: The Mercenaries Strike Back
Within minutes, the city’s elite mercenaries descended.
Their leader barked orders. “Seal the exits! Bring out the mages! Kill every rebel!”
Dozens of soldiers surrounded Satori and Athena.
Satori turned calmly. “Stay behind me.”
A hundred arrows flew.
She raised her staff.
A wall of light absorbed them all.
A mercenary shouted, “That’s her! The witch!”
Satori's smile didn’t fade. “Let me show you what that means.”
She unleashed a blade of light — swift, clean, slicing through armor like paper.
Athena moved like a storm, knocking men aside with supernatural strength.
Blood sprayed. Soldiers screamed.
“This is for the lives you’ve destroyed,” Satori whispered.
🎬 Scene 5: The Final March
The rebellion reached the mansion gates. The castle of Duke Michael and Duchess Samantha loomed above.
Inside, a nervous servant whispered to the Duke, “My lord, the slaves are storming the estate. The witch leads them.”
“Ridiculous,” he scoffed. “I hold their seals. They’re mine.”
Duchess Samantha entered with a cruel smile.
“Let me handle this. Our mercenaries will kill them all.”
She didn’t know… the mercenaries were already dead.
🎬 Scene 6: The Fall of Mirelyn
Satori stood before the castle doors, surrounded by furious slaves.
“Give up the Duke and Duchess,” she called. “Or we tear this place down.”
A knight captain raised his blade. “I won’t betray my lords!”
Athena stepped forward.
“Then die with them.”
Steel clashed. Magic burned. Screams echoed through the walls.
Satori cut down the final defenders with silent precision.
She kicked open the throne room doors.
Duke Michael cowered.
Duchess Samantha snarled, “We’ll pay you! Name your price!”
“You already spent it — in blood,” Satori said coldly.
The slaves surged forward.
The Duke screamed.
And then… silence.
🎬 Scene 7: Aftermath
Satori stood among the broken remnants of Mirelyn.
Her hands, her robes… soaked in blood.
“How many have I killed now?” she murmured.
Athena touched her shoulder.
“You did what had to be done. But… this isn’t like you.”
Satori didn’t answer.
The boy they’d saved approached slowly. “Thank you. For freeing us.”
Satori smiled faintly.
“Don’t thank me. Just… live freely. That’s all the payment I want.”
