Scene 1 – Recovery 

They hide in an abandoned broadcast tower above the clouds. Nyx rests in standby  damaged, humming softly. Glitch sits alone, holding the shard from Korr’s death. 

Her hands are shaking. 

ACCEL (nearby): 

“We don’t have to play it again.” 

GLITCH: 

“It played itself. It wants to be heard.” 

She touches the shard again. 

Scene 2 – The Forgotten Room 

FLASH — 

She’s somewhere else. 

White light. Sterile walls. A girl strapped to a chair, electrodes in her arms. She’s younger, human. Terrified. Doctors outside a glass wall discuss code anomalies. 

Her name flashes on a screen: 

▢ SUBJECT: GL-IX73 

▢ ALIAS: GLITCH // THREAT LEVEL: RISING 

The girl screams. 

One doctor hesitates. 

Another presses a key. 

The screen blinks. 

▢ MEMORY OVERWRITE: IN PROGRESS… 

Scene 3 – In the Mirror 

Back in the real world, Glitch stands before a broken pane of mirrored glass in the tower. 

For a moment… 

she sees herself as that girl again. 

No flickering code. 

No blue static. 

Just a human face — tear-streaked, but determined. 

GLITCH (softly): 

“I wasn’t born. I was copied.” 

ACCEL (behind her): 

“No. You were continued.” 

She turns to him. 

GLITCH: 

“Then why do I feel like a lie?” 

ACCEL: 

“Because that’s what they made you believe. They broke you into pieces. But you're the one putting them back together.” 

Scene 4 – A Ghost in Her Voice 

Nyx wakes, faint but functional. He plays an old soundclip from a corrupted file: 

A lullaby. 

NYX: 

“This came from your shard. You used to sing it. To someone.” 

Glitch recognizes it. She can’t remember who. But she starts humming along. Her code stabilizes. 

Scene 5 – One More Memory 

They decide to chase one final lead in the shard. 

It opens a vision: 

A child  hiding beneath a table.  Gunfire. Sirens. A woman pulls them close  whispering. 

WOMAN: 

“Remember who you are. Not what they say.” 

The child looks up.  It's the girl Glitch before she was erased.  She holds a photo. Two figures smiling. One of them… looks like Accel. 

Scene 6 – The Question 

Back in the tower, Glitch asks: 

GLITCH: 

“Did we know each other? Before all this?” 

Accel doesn’t answer right away.  Just stares at the clouds. 

ACCEL (quietly): 

“Maybe. 

Maybe I promised to find you again.” 

GLITCH: 

“Did you?” 

ACCEL: 

“…Still am.”

End of Chapter 8 – “A Mirror Darkly” 

The past isn’t gone. 

It’s buried fragmented. 

And every fragment is starting to glow.
