Ethan made it back to the mall, tired from walking almost across the entire city to reach Kara's house.
Panting, he lay in his made-up 'bed' and rested from his long walk.
Looking at Kayla, he saw that she was in almost immaculate shape.
'She did marathons and track & field during high school…. No wonder she isn't as tired as me.'
Ethan kept his other questions to himself but asked the one that was the most important at the time.
"How did the boy survive? Am I the only one thinking that this wasn't just luck and a miracle? I barely even survived when I was by myself at my house, but that could be due to our different circumstances."
"It could be due to his [Ability], it's not totally impossible for him to survive. We are in an apocalypse."
"But a child?"
"I agree with Ethan on this one. It could be just luck, or he could just be smart enough to know what to do. Except, with how he was acting, I don't think it was the latter."
Michelle came into the conversation and told Kayla and Ethan what she thinks about the situation. Ethan couldn't help but agree with both of them.
'It could be a [Ability], luck, or smarts. I'm thinking it could be his [Ability] and luck. Or if it's possible…..it could be all three.'

Throughout the day, I saw Kara and Matt together laughing and happy. Currently, I am at the cafeteria watching them.
"You know, you look like a creep just staring at people like that."
Michelle narrowed her eyes at me and said. She shook her head and sighed.
"I know you are suspicious about what happened, I am too, but you are going to have to get over it. It could just be pure luck, and that's how he survived, just like you."
I looked back at her and rubbed my eyes.
'I didn't get enough sleep….but I made it to my goal, so it's not that bad.'
"You're alright? Are you tired?"
"Yeah, I just didn't get enough sleep. Everything is okay."
Michelle dropped her fork on the table so she could put her hand on my back.
I couldn't help to joke with her.
"Oh? You care about little old me? I thought you didn't like me from how you slapped the life out of me while I was sleeping."
"Tsk. I don't, but I have to, now that you are acting like this. Finish eating your food and go back to bed. You need all the sleep you can get."
I just nodded and continued to eat my food. I wasn't going to be able to finish it because one of the officers ran in and started screaming.
"Hey! We need everyone who has a powerful [Ability] to help the rest of the group outside! Looks like werewolves! Come on! Let's go!"
No one moved. They all stayed in their places, scared to go outside and face the havoc that's going on out there.
All the survivors here don't have any family members who volunteered to go out. It was only the ones that had lost everything, including their will to live.
They knew what they were getting into when they walked outside the mall. Everyone had the same thoughts and stayed seated.
I stood up and started running to the group outside.
'I don't really care about these people. I only care about my family, but this is a chance for me to gain more levels and gain information about the enemy. I can always switch sides in case the human race is on the losing side.'
I reached the entrance doors and looked around for the one in charge. I found a wolf that had bulging muscles and scars all over their body, especially one over their eye. They had a battle axe and were leaning on it, watching their companions fight our group.
I scanned the one in charge

Name: Hazor Maned (Male)
Species: Lycan
Tier: 2
HP: 2,600/2,600

'He is already tier 2? This is not good, at all.'
I opened the doors and yelled out to everyone.
"Retreat! I'll cover you!"
Everyone started running back. The werewolves started to follow, but I started to send out [Air Slash] after [Air Slash] at the wolves to make up the cover fire. Everyone who was still alive made it back. The commander of this operation, Hazor, got off his weapon and looked at us.
He smiled, yet it was filled with bloodlust.
"Oh? A Tier One human. I thought it was all tier o' s here. You must have learned some more skills, but you're just the same as all the other ones if you don't have a lot of mana."
He was waiting for me to respond to what he said.
"What do you want?"
He looked surprised that I actually answered him. He shook off the surprise immediately and continued his speech.
"We want you to surrender and submit to us. We want to build our economy and be the biggest, strongest, and superior race among all the others."
"And if we don't?"
He looked confused about what I said, but then started to laugh maniacally, out of nowhere.
"You really think you have an option!?! I'm simply telling you what's going to happen. You get on the bad side of our Alpha, she will simply slaughter you all! You can just bow down, and no more of your kind will get killed here."
'I mean ….he does have a point. But I wonder….'
After I said my answer, he started to charge at me.
