"You really think you have an option!?! I'm simply telling you what's going to happen. You get on the bad side of our Alpha, she will simply slaughter you all! You can just bow down, and no more of your kind will get killed here."
'I mean ….he does have a point. But I wonder….'
"Can I ask for some more time to think about the dilemma you just gave us? I need to talk to the rest of the group."
Now Hazor looked like I just had my head cut off, but I was still alive.
"Why do you need time? It's quite obvious what the right answer is. It's either you die or you submit? Do you not want your lives?"
I looked back towards the rest of my team. They all looked scared and looked like they were going to kill me if I made the wrong choice.
'I would too if I had to leave my life up to someone I don't know.'
I turned back around when I had my answer.
"We submit."
After I said my answer, he started to charge at me.
He stopped right before he could slam into me and stood up tall.
Hazor looked quite glad that I had chosen that answer. He declared that our group would be taken over by the werewolves and told us our rules.
"All you have to do is listen to what we say and you'll be fine. Just don't disobey or try to escape. If some of you do well or are strong enough, you will be turned into one of us and escape your lowly fate."
Hazor backed up a few steps and looked at his army.
"Groups 1 and 2! You will stay here and make sure that these humans stay in line. That means making rounds, keeping other predators away, and disciplining them if it is needed."
He glanced and squinted at us, making sure we heard what he said if we stepped out of line. He turned back and continued giving orders to other groups.
"Groups 3 and 4 are coming back with me to report to the Alpha. Group 5, go hunting for some prey. We need some more for the pack."
All the groups he commanded stayed still. He growled and slammed his axe into the ground.
"Did you not hear me, idiots!?! I said my piece! Now go!"
The wolves that were assigned to watch us ran towards my group and pushed us inside.
Once everyone was gathered inside, the wolves started looking around and sniffing about.
'It seems like we're free to go. They didn't order us to do anything. I guess we are just as free as before, except that we can't leave or head outside. Sounds good to me, I'm an introvert anyway.'
All of the humans started to go back to their own section of the mall. Once me, Kayla, Michelle, and Casey made it back, Michelle looked at me. Almost as if she didn't recognize who I was.
I noticed how she looked at me and just sighed.
"Why are you looking at me like that? What's up?"
"How did you understand what they were saying?"
Now I was confused.
"What do you mean? They were speaking English the whole time, which is pretty weird to me. Did you not hear what they said?"
Casey jumped in to answer for all of them.
"We only heard when he told you about the deal and afterwards. We didn't understand what he said before that, though."
"Maybe it's one of my [Abilities]? It could be."
They nodded and accepted my answer. Kayla and Michelle went through the aisle of the store, and Casey just went behind the counter and 'chilled'.
[You want answers, don't you, Ethan?]
'I would be very grateful if I could.'
[I have almost all the answers to your questions. You may ask them.]
'Thank you. My first question is about the language situation. Why was I able to understand Hazor?'
[This one is simple. This leads back to when I said that my other host was in a different world. I scanned them and was able to learn about their language and why they do certain things when I was with that host. It transferred over here to this different universe, so now you know the language from me.]
'Okay, that makes sense. The next one I have is, what should I do with all these cores? I can't just carry them with me. To others, it will look like I'm carrying invisible weights.'
[For now, swallow all of them. I can store them in my personal inventory.]
'You had an inventory the whole time! I could have used it!'
[You would have to swallow it in order for me to store it. You won't be able to store big items. Especially weapons.]
'Makes sense. Alright, give me a second.'
I went to grab my bag full of cores. I started chewing them in my mouth and swallowed them like pills. The system kept updating the number of cores I had.
