Tynan sifted through julius’s memories, a kaleidoscope of pain, joy, fear, hatred swirling around them like shards of broken glass. They felt a slimmering rage boiling within as they reviewed each fragment, piecing together the list of those who had wronged their Tyngan. Their lips curled into a faint smirk as they considered where to start.

The Viscount boys stood out like a festering wound in Julius’s mind. Marik Valcath, the older brother, a groomer and master manipulator who had cruelly isolated Marcelia, breaking her spirt under the guise of affection. His predatory nature and the way he had once been celebrated by society only deepened Tynan’s disgust. And then ther was Kaelen Valcath, Marik’s younger brother, the one who had shattered lives with a few careless words. Julis wasn’t the only victim of Kaelen’s outing. So  Many suffered, and too many had succumbed to despair.

Kealen’s betrayal burned brightest in Julius’s memories. His hated for the younger the younger Valcath wasn’t explosive, but quiet and deeply rooted, a slow and simmering fire that Tynan felt it had been etched into Julius’s very soul. It was a hatred born not just from Kaelen’s actions, but from the pain and self-loathing they had left behind.

As Tynan delved deeper, another memory surfaced-a different memory surfaced- a different kind of pain. It hit them like a physical blow, stopping them in their tracks. A crumpled piece of paper, shaking hands clutching it. Tynan didn’t need to read the to know what it was.

A suicide note.

Their heart broke as they took in the sight of it. Even without reading, the raw agonybehind every word bled into Tynan, seeping into their essence. Julius’s despair was a wound that never truly healed, no matter how much time passed. “I’m sorry,” the note read, “I’m so sorry I’m not strong enough.” The lines blurred as Tynan’s vision filled with tears-tears they didn’t realize they could still shed after all this time.

Before them, Julis slept soundly within the dreamscape they had carefully woven to protect him. A perfect, idyllic illusion designed to shield him from the world cruelty and his own inner demons. Yet no matter how much effort Tynan put into crafting this sanctuary, Julius’s self-hatred seeped through the cracks.

Tynan crouched beside him, their form shifting slightly as their emotions swirled. Their usual androgynous confidence faltered as they reached out to brush a strand of hair from Julius’s face. He looked so peaceful here, free of the weight he carried in the waking world.

“Why do you still hate yourself, Tyngan?” Tynan whispered, their voice trembling. “You saved me. You gave me life. Why can’t you see your own worth?”

Their thoughts returned to the the Valcaths, to all those who had wronged their Tyngan. Tynan’s resolve hardened. It Julius couldn’t see his value, Tynan would remove those who had stolen it from him. They would unravel the cruelty, thread by thread, until Julius could no longer deny the truth of his own worth.

“Kealen Valcath,” Tynan murmured, their sun-kissed skin glowing faintly as their determination flared. “You will be the first to fall.”

And with that, they stepped out of the memory, leaving Julius to rest in peace.

In a realm where magic is law and nobility masks rot, Marcelia Ravenswood — bard, healer, and daughter of a house bound to justice — finds herself accidentally engaged to Rayner, a fae exile with horns like branches and trauma buried deep beneath moonlit smiles. One accidental name exchange later, she’s swept into a conflict older than kingdoms and more dangerous than any spell.

Her stepbrother Julius, a reclusive scholar of magic, has unknowingly become the vessel for a sealed fae entity — last of the Ceaith-ysyr, an ancient race once vital to the stability of the Fae Wilds. Twisted by betrayal, the Ceaith-ysyr were nearly exterminated by the Magic Magistrate after a failed attempt to turn them into living weapons. Now unsealed, this Ceaith-ysyr hunger for justice — not for themselves, but for Julius, the one who freed them— threatens to ignite a war that could consume the mortal realm.

Now tangled in the lies of those who were meant to protect them, Marcelia and Rayner must race to find Julius before the Magistrate finds them all —and finishes what they started.

A story of love, loss, and legacies rewritten in blood, this is the beginning of a tale where even the broken can shift the balance between ruin and rebirth.
