EXT. BUSHY FOREST – NIGHT

A herd of antelopes sprint through the foliage, fear in their eyes. A PAIR OF BRIGHT GOLDEN EYES pierce through the darkness. An ABNORMAL ROAR shakes the silence. HYDRION (larger and more humanoid than usual) gives chase like a true predator.

HYDRION

How insulting. I’m made to chase my own dinner.

(jumps)

One antelope slows, looking back. Not seeing Hydrion, it stops. A STRANGE SHADOW covers it. It looks up… and loses its head. Hydrion stands behind, gripping the head, then SMASHES it with his jaws, chewing and swallowing. The other antelopes freeze in horror.

HYDRION (showing claws)

Run!

The deer SCATTER.

HYDRION (V.O.)

Did they really have to go in different directions?

HYDRION

Not to worry. I’ll hunt them all down.

INNER VOICE (V.O.)

Get over with it already.

HYDRION

Just shut up and watch me.

(runs, sniffing)

Now, where did they go… got you.

(runs faster)

As the antelopes think they’ve escaped, Hydrion appears SWIFTLY. One collapses, its throat slashed. The other three antelopes freeze. Hydrion feasts.

HYDRION

(rising)

Run!

One deer tries to escape. It dodges Hydrion’s attack, but he grazes its limb. It hides, trembling, hearing footsteps… Hydrion is in front of it.

HYDRION

I’m kinda impressed. You were able to dodge that.

(turns)

I’ll kill you another day. Make sure you’re still alive till then.

The antelope sobs silently. Hydrion catches the remaining two. He JUMPS, lands on one, SMASHES its face, and devours it. The last deer charges in rage.

HYDRION

Should I be impressed by your courage… or your stupidity?

The deer shatters into SIX PIECES—head to tail.

HYDRION

Anyway…

(continues eating)

EXT. LAKE – NIGHT

Hydrion freshens up, then climbs a MOUNTAIN.

HYDRION

This is my domain.

(HOWLS abnormally loud)

INNER VOICE (V.O.)

Isn’t that too loud?

HYDRION

Whatever.

(runs down mountain)

INT. KELINZA’S HOME – MORNING

TYBEAST wakes with BLOODY LIPS beside LENIEL.

TYBEAST

(yawns, stretches)

I’m satisfied.

MS. KELINZA

You went hunting?

TYBEAST

Yeah. I remember digging into some sharks.

LENIEL

(dressing)

I’m about to leave.

MS. KELINZA

You really think school would reopen right after a terrorist attack?

LENIEL

(heading downstairs)

School isn’t the only place I go, you know.

MS. KELINZA

Where are you going?

LENIEL

Nayoka’s place. The rest called me for something.

MS. KELINZA

Well, Tybeast’s tagging along.

LENIEL

LENIEL

LENIEL knocks.

NAYOKA (O.S.)

LENIEL

NAYOKA (O.S.)

LENIEL

Then you’re not welcome here.

LENIEL

Leniel enters. INSIDE, the group is gathered.

KOTAN

LENIEL

Tybeast reenters. Midas limps in, bloodied.

FLORENCIA

NAYOKA

Just get to the point. You want to know about Hydrion.

FLORENCIA (surprised)

LENIEL

Guess somebody’s famous.

NAYOKA

Yes, I am quite a celebrity.

LENIEL

Wasn’t talking to you.

FLORENCIA

So fine. What do you know about Hydrion?

NAYOKA

Hydrion and I have been friends for a long time.

He saved my life countless times.

Even though he’s a savage carnivore, he does have some humanity.

FLORENCIA (suspicious)

LENIEL

FLORENCIA

Tybeast BITES Leniel’s foot. He KICKS him off.

FLORENCIA

Florencia rummages through FAMILY PHOTOS. She finds a familiar face.

FLORENCIA

Professor Kelinza?!

MS. KELINZA

FLORENCIA

LENIEL

Wait! Wasn’t Arkrion the tuna that got his ass kicked by Hydrion?

RODAN

MS. KELINZA

LENIEL

MS. KELINZA

NAYOKA (feeling pressure)

(approaches Florencia)

FLORENCIA

RODAN

They said they’re almost here.

(Doorbell rings. Florencia opens it. THREE PEOPLE enter—1 MALE, 2 FEMALES.)

LENIEL

And who are they?

NAYOKA

The rest of the mutants, obviously.

MS. KELINZA

Great! Let’s all have dinner together.
