"I figured I'd find you here." Commented Skoll as he looked down at the corner table of the local diner.

Elliot looked up from his book. He knew that voice anywhere. His reading glasses sat low on his face as he glanced up at Skoll. He had told the man not to contact him again. Elliot hiding the shock he was feeling in his chest.

"I told you not to contact me." Stated Elliot as he looked back down at his book, taking in a slow breath. Steadying the sudden rise in his blood pressure. Skoll could hear it. It excited him. The quicken beat of Elliot's heart. Sure the last thing Elliot expected on lunch was for him to show up unannounced after all this time.

"I tried texting you but you left me on read." Skoll ignored his cold shoulder as he took the seat across from him in the booth.

"I didn't reply for a reason." Elliot knew that Skoll was very aware of that reason. He should have changed his number. He thought about it a few times but he also knew the kind of man Skoll was. If he wanted to he'd figure out his new number or show up like he was now. Elliot thought if Skoll knew he was getting his messages that would be enough to keep him at bay.

Skoll was bad news for him. He hated to admit it but Skoll thus far has been the only man he's come across in life that he hadn't figured out. Everytime he felt like he was getting closer, Skoll would do a one eighty on him. That very fact made Skoll even more dangerous for him because Elliot didn't like the unknown, the incomplete puzzle of life. Knowing very well that those who play with fire usually got burned and Elliot was still healing from the last time.

"I said I was sorry." Skoll mumbled barely above a whisper. He wasn't the type to apologize for anything he did. It just wasn't in his nature to do so. Skoll was a do now and think later kind of guy which was what got him on the wrong side of Elliot.

Not that Skoll really thought when he walked out on Elliot years ago. Skoll could count on one hand the number of days that passed that he didn't think of Elliot.

Elliot arched a dark brown at him before closing his book and getting up. Sending what he assumed to be drunken text in the middle of the night wasn't what Elliot thought of when he apologized to someone. He walked a few steps away from the table before turning back, tapping his finger on the edge.

"Friday. I'm free if you want to apologize to me in person."

This got a smirk from Skoll.

* * * * *

Friday couldn't come fast enough for Skoll. His skin had been crawling all week waiting. Practically counting the minutes. Elliot teased him by making him wait until the end of the week.

It had been a long while since Skoll knuckles rapped the front door of Elliot's home. He had parked down the street around the corner, making sure no one saw him as he walked up the front steps. Parking around the side was his choice. He knew it put Elliot more at ease over his nosey neighbors.

"It's open." Called Elliot from inside. He was currently sitting in his leather wing back chair, leg crossed at the knee.

The log from the fire he had started popped and cackled as Skoll walked in. The sound of the lock clicking before the sound of Skoll's boots being kicked off at the front door. Elliot could hear Skoll as he hung up his leather vest on the coat rack next to the door. His mind wondered at how far Skoll was going to go. It has been a long time since he's stepped foot in his home. A home that had rules Skoll loved to break. Rules that Skoll technically wasn't obligated too since he walked out.

Then the sound of Skoll's heavy belt buckle hitting the floor as he took his pants off, pleased Elliot. He was sure his black tee shirt was next but was too light to make any noise, along with his socks.

"Everything." Chimed Elliot as Skoll's shadow entered the doorway of the formal living room. If he was going to go that far he might as well do it all, thought Elliot.

Skoll rolled his eyes as he started to undo the leather cuffs he wore around his wrist. They clinked as they hit the polished wooden floor. Elliot's eyes settled on Skoll as he walked into the room. His fist down at his side as he walked to stand in front of him.

"I said everything." Repeated Elliot as he looked at the black boxer briefs still clinging to Skoll's narrow hips. Skoll's body was the perfect specimen if you asked Elliot. He had the right definition in all the right places. Surprisingly the only scar he had was on the back of his right shoulder. A scar Skoll had yet to tell him about. To Elliot it looked to be some kind of dog bite. A nasty one at that. The flesh still looked angry as Skoll rolled his shoulders back, along with his eyes again.

When they first crossed paths Skoll didn't have the scar. That came later, around the same time Skoll started to act differently.

Skoll knew the rules. He still fought them even though he's the one that wanted this. He was the one that came and found Elliot at the diner.

His upper lip curled as he ran his thumbs along the front of his briefs as if to be a tease for Elliot, making a show out of the act as he pushed them down over his hips.

"For someone that's trying to apologize you're doing a terrible job at it."

Skoll flexed his hands as he kicked his underwear away. It had taken him several times just to learn what he has so far. He wanted to please Elliot but he fought every moment of it. Elliot was the only one that barely got him. Tonka's voice chimed in his mind as he stood there naked.

Not that you could call what they have a relationship but this too wasn't always like this. Skoll wasn't the only one that's changed over the years. Elliot changed too. He drew back, put up walls and blocked out people. Those people being mostly him. Skoll caused the walls to go up he knew that but fuck.

* * * * *

Skoll may or may not have gone to Tonka after he found out that Crash was given permission to leave and take the pup with him. Having Crash gone was a blessing of sorts but to have his omega gone too pissed Skoll off.

Quinn was to be his even if no one but him saw that. Everything he was taught about this life was that once one got an omega in their grasps they didn't let it go.

Elliot leaned up in his chair, gazing at Skoll with eyes that had thoughts racing behind them even as he tried to hide it. Skoll could see him thinking away. The man was always thinking.

Tonka of course wasn't fond of Skoll coming after him like he had. It was out of line and disrespectful. At least the way he handled it. Tonka was a peaceful man overall but he made it known that Crash wasn't the only one that got by with things they shouldn't have over the years. Tonka thought Skoll would be happy to know that his spot at number three just got bumped to two with no sweat off his back. A spot that he had been dying to get his hands on for the last few years. A spot that could quickly be taken away from him if he didn't fix the huge fucking attitude he had. Tonka alone had the power to strip him of everything he worked for and earned within the pack.

Anger has always been Skoll's downfall along with his pride. Two things all the men of the night seemed to have but Skoll had more. He didn't know how to control it. His anger had taken more from him than anything else in his life so far and Elliot has been the only one that seemed to know how to tame him.

Little side characters getting their own story!!

I honestly have SEVERAL openers for the two the them. I had so many idea's as to who they where and how their story should go.

I started and restarted so many times.
And the funny part . . . This was the 1st one I wrote.

*I see Elliot as older. A bit more grown / wise.

*Spoiler there may be an opener that got scrapped for them being used for another set!! 🤔

(These two are originally featured in Stay: In the Moonlight.)
*I've done my best to write this so if you haven't read that you won't really need too, but I highly recommend because Crash and Quinn are lovlies too.*

Come join these two on their own ups and downs. This story does run into the same timeline as STAY.

*Disclaimer like most of my stories this one also features some hard topics or sences that can be difficult for some to read. They will be flagged for mature.
